Because he's the only left footed wide player we have. And he's better then Grealish. Even if we get Martial, he is right footed and plays on the left. If we got Malcom or Bale then yes, selling Lamela would maybe make sense (even tho I would be against it) but replacing Lamela with Grealish makes no sense.
Never said Grealish is replacing Lamela.

If we can’t get this deal over the line, with Villa in extreme financial trouble, it’s no surprise we haven’t signed anyone yet and ignored Poch’s wishes for early business yet again.
Are you suggesting we won’t be able to? Again there could be reasons. Maybe we are hanging it out because there may be a 25% chance of getting something much better done? Hell, I don’t know. Just had a couple of drinks and am hanging it out there.

It might pay you to get to grips with the ITK and, or ITK discussion threads. Dare I suggest the most informative 'update 55' in SC ITK thread.

Enlightenment might be afforded to you grasshopper.

I have all the time in the world for the people who share information but we haven’t actually signed him and Villa played him yesterday, risking injury and so he isn’t about to appear as if from nowhere with a spurs shirt on his back. And if he does, Villa are even more foolish than appear

I don't doubt that you appreciate those that share info. Maybe it's just me, but I see the ITKS time and time again explain how complex deals are, how and why we do our business later in the window, even why there is a delay in certain announcements.

Feck me, half a dozen posts later and all is forgotten and the ' we ain't signing anyone ' narrative resumes.

Not directed at you buddy.

Debate is all good, but taking in what is actually written by those closer to ongoings surely would be sensible.

Does me feckin swede.

Maybe because most internet conversations when people disagree are basically pointless, as each side just state their belief and nobody changes their opinion?

Obviously. But those figures mean something slightly different to an elite level football club with a billionaire owner. I’m tired of our fans making excuses for it as well. I’m not saying we should go crazy in the transfer market but loosening up a bit to give the best manager we’ve had in nearly 20 years the players he needs sooner isn’t much to ask.

There is no losening up a bit we have finite resources most of which have gone on the stadium/training ground over the last ten years. Levy will operate inside that budget and try and get as much out of it as he can, that is his job.

This simply isn't true. Our revenue has increased by nearly £100m in the last financial year alone, and is projected to increase by £100m more by next year. Stadium financing is secured through medium and long term loans. I wish people would stop propagating the myth that we are paupers. We are not. Sure we aren't City or Chelsea with unlimited millions, but on the other hand we aren't skint either.

Most expensive ticket prices in Europe next season. The time has come to either shit or get off the pot.

I’m not sure you understand the definition of “finite”

"limited in size or extent"
The inference in "there is no loosening up" is that the club doesn't have much money or scope for improving our budget. That's what I was objecting to.

You realise when you take out a loan you have to pay it back, right? It isn’t free money.
