What a load of cobblers, O'Neill left Villa in 2010, since then Houllier, McLeish, Lambert, Sherwood and Garde ( correct me if i have missed anyone else) have all had a go and wasted money. To say a manager who left 8 years ago is to blame for a large part of their current predicament is absolute nonsense.
The two idiot owners they have had in that time bare most responsibility, not a manager who left 8 years ago.

MoN definitely started the rot and those that followed and the two idiot owners all played their part as well. They have never recovered from his excesses and that should be a lesson to other clubs.

Absolutely, if it wasn't for the fact levy is the man he is Redknapp would have seen us down exactly the same path. The owner might have signed the cheques but in Villa's case a foreign owner who knew very little about the job he was doing put too much trust into what MON was telling him would bring success. MON might have spouted personal reasons for why he left but I don't believe that for one second. He did what all "proper football men" do and jumped from the sinking ship he had filled with holes, for self preservation.

Their financial woes started with MON and they have struggled ever since. They were only just treading water before they got relegated, and things have spiralled since.

Everyone talks about leeds but it is so many clubs. The big ones (or lucky) get new owners that bail them out.
You just have to look at the championship at the moment the average wage to turnover ratio is 99%.
Everyone gambling on the dream of being in the prem.

This is my first World Cup since being active on SC. Are things always this slow during a WC? Dying of suffocating tedium at the moment

Quite a bit of rumour on villa talk that bids are coming in for the club and a sale is likely soon.

The villa owner's (Xia) right hand man (Ho) also posted and then deleted what looked like a farewell to Birmingham msg.

We may well have to deal with the new bidders / owners re grealish. Could stretch things out a bit and also affect price? In principle, even new owners still have to sell as they are up against it re FFP, but EFL seems to be adopting more of a collaborative approach to help clubs get back on track these days?

New owners will need to pass FPPT which is quiet stringent in the EFL. They're still up against it in terms of time constraints
