I just thought I would try and make your Monday better. If we had to have played well for the full 90 mins and lost 1-0 then we would not all be as down in the dumps but there is light and ill tell you why.

The team we are more likely to catch is arsenal, yes? We are 6 points behind with a game extra played. IF we can put in a performance and overturn them at whl on sunday that puts us 3 points behind with a game extra played.........and here are the next 4 fixtures after that:

Arsenal play- Chelsea, Swansea, Man City, Everton

We play- Southampton, Liverpool, Sunderland, West Brom

Obviously its all a big if but if we grab these games by the scruff like we did vs Newcastle then I can see a scenario where arsenal win at Swansea, lose to Chelsea, man city and draw at everton. If we were to lose at Liverpool and win our other 3 then we are 2 points ahead with them having a game in hand.

Now I hate to get ahead of myself and that is what im doing here but I think we are still in with a shout of 4th.

No, its over I'm afraid. Losing to Norwich was the one.
I suppose i'm being awkward or something because it really don't matter, I dunno, but I really don't think there was one result we could look back on and say that about. I mean, its still mathematically possible and if we had a Chelsea CL winning sequence of events go our way………….But the footballing gods ain't done shitting on us yet, so that ain't happening.

If we are being honest, did anyone really think we have looked good enough at any time to get fourth this year?

If we lose against Arsenal let's just focus all our efforts on the Europa League. Then at least when they inevitably win the FA Cup we can maybe say we won a better trophy

Nope. I'm gutted and hate losing but we don't deserve 4th so its easier to take. In seasons past there have been defining games (Stoke and Man City away) but this season I can think of more games we won and deserved not to that the other way around. A 22-2 agg against Man C, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool means 5th is the max we deserve.

West Ham! was the wake up call and we just picked up the alarm clock and through it across the room.
I think that footballing god lives in Knightsbridge.

My only solace is the thought of all the city fans calling for the chairman's head this morning.

A win against arsenal will get people thinking that its possible, we will see. Come this day next week, 3 points behind them and they have to play Chelsea, man city and everton in their next 4 games. we will see

We need to forget about where we can finish and just focus on winning the next game. Something is definitely going on behind the scenes that we (the public) aren't aware of.
Levy needs to come out and either back Tim or state his intentions.
I can see us getting a score draw on Thursday and then going out in the return leg.
The fact that we play arsenal after a europa game doesnt do us any favours. One thing I've noticed about our beloved spurs, is that if they have an excuse, the players will use it.
I think our season will end once we're out of europa. Players will feel sorry for themselves and probably already thinking that Tim wont be here next season.
Im all doom and gloom I know, but I really can't see us stringing a run of results together. COYS!!!

The problem is that even if we do suddenly pull a performance out of our arses against Arsenal, there's no guarantee that we'll follow it up with anything positive as the team is so ludicrously inconsistent at the moment.

There's always the chance that Tim's meltdown will have inspired the players and they'll go on a rampage to prove him wrong, but I think that's being wildly optimistic.

I think the best thing that can happen to Spurs now is if Holland get knocked out of the World Cup as early as possible.

personally i dont think it was a meltdown myself.. if we wanted CL we needed something out of that game and i personally think sherwood has wanted to say that about the squad for a long long time...and after seen them buckle and lay down he let it out... also fact that JJ said last week abou stuff happening would suggest to me that sherwood already knows his fate and just let rip....

its a complete mess if you ask me..i think so much going on behind scenes involving players coaches and directors, who are all trying and manoeuvring for their own individual progression ,that no one really cares in end abou what happens on pitch.
