ITK - from Galahad on COYS

To the ITK-sceptics --- please exercise some self-control and ignore this thread.

To the ITK-philes --- please bear in mind that nothing is done until it's officially announced.

Missive just in from Galahad:

Strong push to sign Clemente and/or The Kid if it becomes necessary to replace the boy from Blagoevgrad cry.

I've no idea what that means, however I have confidence in the COYS brains trust to unravel it in short order.

With the usual caveat that bidding for a player is nowhere near the same thing as signing them, if it comes to fruition would you be happy with either/both?

Posters seem to believe that Clemente is Fabiano, and The Kid is David Villa.

As much as i'd love for us to sign Torres, I don't think the club would be silly enough to try, it wouldn't happen. Villa will be leaving Valencia, and if newspaper reports are true claiming £16mil is the fee he'll command, I think we'll go there. If we were to sell Berbatov, Liverpool would want at least the same fee we commanded for him.

The kid is most likely Villa (or Aguero, but I doubt it). I can see us going for Villa, although talk of us thinking he is a perfect replacement for Berba (Daily Mail) is a bit far fetched. Perfect partner maybe but the two are hardly similar.

One thing though, why is every player we are being linked with attacking? Maybe it is all speculation and we will sign some more defensive/strong midfielders under the radar.

Santa Cruz: 1.91 m
Luis Fabiano: 1.83 m (I would hate it if he joined us. He is an arrogant person and a terrible sportsman as "... he ran behind the River player and studded him just below the neck and sent him to the hospital." I remember that incident, the most despicable player I've ever seen, he should go to the gunners.)

who could all be more of a Target Man kind of player.

By the way I realized that Villa's nickname means El Nino as well, or The Kid.

We would need two defensive type midfielders in there (i.e. ones who can tackle and pass. I like JJ a lot but in a team like that he wouldn't be effective there. Oh and Eto'o would likely be the out and out striker :wink:
