Troy Townsend says the winger took time to recover from the injury that ruled him out of Brazil 2014 and has urged patience with the 24-year-old.

We saw with Rose how long it can take a player to come back from a major injury, and as the article mentions Sandro for one never made it. Fans need to show more support not just for Townsend but also Walker who has been in the same situation and is now turning it around.

This also applies to not writing off young players. Young Ogilvie for instance, who struggled last season after coming back from injury, but is now pulling up trees at Stevo.

I wouldn't call him a stupid person as thats just insulting. But as a player on those wages he is there for the fans to judge and I rated him when he was at QPR on loan. I couldn't wait for him to join up with our first team and I've gone from that frame of mind into the one I'm in now where I don't ever want to see him play for us again.

And its not because of the injury. I just don't think he's ever in any danger of creating or scoring a goal. Anytime we have the ball and he is in possession I think its a total waste of time. sometimes, rarely, i'll be wrong and he'll contribute to a goal but its so rare that I've lost all patience with him for over a season now.

He'll never make it at Tottenham. Its unfair on him to suggest otherwise. He has a career somewhere and he'll be very rich from it so I don't feel bad for him, I just want him sold. I'll wish him the best of luck and sigh a huge breath of relief when it happens.

He should have gone to villa on loan for the season, I still this he should be played in the middle it's where he's always looked good.

I really would like him too succeed, but he just doesn't look threatening. It wasn't just him, but Chadli as well. It's time that he be allowed to leave & ply his trade elsewhere. We need a little more dynamism & directness; the ability to be unpredictable. He just doesn't exhibit that right now.

Just a thought but maybe he's not maturing because his parent is a little bit too involved in his life? I don't wanna get deep but I don't recall many of our other players' Dads continually giving interviews, it's a bit odd.

He's gifted sure but when he made the breakthrough for England getting a few goals at that point he hadn't yet done much for Spurs. Immediately he got labelled the new Bale and alas he's not nearly as good. That build up in the press really put the pressure on him when he was still young and when he did OK but not brilliant it seemed like a let down. Like every player we want him fully fit and sure of his role in the side. I don't see him as England's first choice and that may help him. We must be careful not to put Delle Alli in the same position. There's more to come from him, I hope Poch can bring it out.

Eh? I can't remember Lewis Hamilton playing for Spurs. He does look a bit like Theo Walcott, if you squint and shake your head.

Williams sisters too, they dint do too bad. Thought we were talking about parents being too involved. Only applies to football or Spurs then? I just totally disagree with you and see no relation at all to his family's relationship.
