I think it is you know. Looking at the coverage this weekend and yesterday BT Sports were showing West Brom vs West Ham and then Crystal Palace vs Liverpool. Today the BBC are showing Aston Villa vs Leicester. All games that we see every week in the Premier League. I could understand if they were big games too but neither of those 3 are big. The only game I've seen that makes sense is Arsenal vs Boro. Although the Arsenal vs Hull game made no sense either.

One of the great things about the FA Cup is the opportunity to watch the smaller clubs in the spotlight. It was great to see Cambridge get a game on tv against Utd. There aren't enough games like this being shown on FA Cup weekend. The lower league clubs need the money yet the Premier League clubs are getting most of the coverage. Not only is it a blow for English football in general but it has taken some of the magic out of the FA Cup.

I would have paid good money to see Chelsea get their arses handed to them. It's what the cup is all about.

Ages ago the BBC did a documentary about the cup. They followed a team from the very first qualifying round up until their game, then they followed which ever team won all the way to the final. Would love if they could do that again.

The match choices have been very uninspiring. I'm sure most people would prefer to see a David and Goliath type battle rather than seeing the same old sides again. Saying that it must be pretty hard to try and pick a match where there's going to be an upset.

Think that's why they call it an upset.

I'd say it's been a pretty good year. City,Chelsea, Swanea, Sunderland have all been knocked out by lower league sides plus United and Liverpool were both taken to replays. And West Ham had to appolagise to their fans after being humiliated :). The only bad part was us going out so early when we would have had a decent chance of getting to the final.

Last month TV ruined the FA cup for showing Liverpool - MK Dons rather than Tottenham - Burnley. This month they ruins it by doing the opposite.

I'm pretty glad my job isn't to produce something for football fans.

Nah can't agree but that's me. I'd scap it and just have the league cup. It's a relic from a bygone age, football has moved and so have tha fans. Loved it in the pre EPL days now it's an annoying tradition which we Brits do do cling onto for some daft reason.

While I agree to some extent that TV is ruining the FA Cup the FA aren't exactly helping the competition. Semi finals should not be held at Wembley, big Premier League fixtures (e.g. Man Utd vs Chelsea) shouldn't be held at the exact time of a semi-final and the vast majority of the tickets for the final should go to the two clubs competing in it. Arsenal and Villa have each been given 25,000 tickets in a 90,000 stadium.

Couldn't believe the villa semi was on BT Sports. Had to get a stream for the wife to watch it and the quality was awful although the result kept her happy and I had the Spurs game on the telly.

Time to scrap the league cup, it's stupid there are 2 anyway. I like the league cup but one has to go and the FA cup is ore traditional. Maybe expand the JPT to include the championship sides to compensate.

Semi's at Wembley have to stop.

No PL fixtures the same weekend and make all fixtures in the 3pm Saturday kick offs and look to find a way to change the TV rights rule.

Terrestrial tv only.

TV and Football are joined at the hip now so we need a fresher approach. Not allowing 3pm Saturday kick offs on TV is now plain archaic. Once again FA are out of touch.

FA/League cup (whatever one want to call "IT") should be on on TV during weekdays only. Personally I prefer the league cup now. FA cup has all the excitement of the old Intertoto or Johnstone's Paint Trophy, it has become somewhat meaningless. Mainly due to the amount of football on TV.

TV has ruined the media and public perception of football at large. Going to a game and getting involved is still as good as its always been.

Plus all draws to use balls not bloody cubes or kinder eggs FFS :banghead: and for the love of Mary's bloody hole STOP using "celebs" and pundits doing any part of the draw, i'd rather they dragged two random opposing supporters out of any game in any English league at halftime throw them in the centre circle and say ok Barry put your pie down you're drawing the home sides and Cookie you're drawing the away teams and no swearing you're on TV.

Or a tactical nuke on the FA old duffers club and rebuild the thing from the basement up.

The BBC are going back to the good old days and devoting the whole day to the FA cup final.

If only Arsenal weren't in the final it would be a great day of TV.
