Source - Australian Financial Review:
Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande reportedly became the world's most valuable soccer team last week.
According to the Chinese official news agency Xinhua, a transaction in Guangzhou's shares on the over-the-counter National Equities Exchange and Quotations market where it is listed gave it a market capitalisation of $US3.35 billion ($4.46 billion)
The deal Xinhua disclosed, for 36,000 shares at 55 yuan apiece ($8.50), represented a rise of about 40 per cent from the 40 yuan each at which the club sold shares earlier this year.
The overall valuation for Guangzhou, which Sydney FC beat in an Asian Champions League group match two weeks ago, was slightly above the $US3.2 billion figure Forbes estimates Spanish giant Real Madrid is worth.
It is also more than the $US2.3 billion market capitalisation of English Premier League club Manchester United, while its cross-town rival Manchester City is valued at $US3 billion after a Chinese investment firm paid $US400 million for a 13 per cent stake in the Abu Dhabi-owned club late last year.
City Football Club, Manchester City's owners, also own A-League club Melbourne City, New York City FC in the Major League Soccer competition and 20 per cent of Japanese team Yokohama F Marinos.
Several European teams are listed on various exchanges around the continent, including Italian club Juventus, though shares are often not heavily traded. Juventus has a market capitalisation of €250 million.

No Chinese club is actually worth $3.2 Billion to an investor outside of China. Bit of a waste of an article, they may throw some money around but it's a tin pot league that doesn't generate commercial interest

Maybe not outside of China. But their population is so huge they could be commercially enormous with zero interest from overseas.
