Is Messi as likeable as people make out?

I feel aside from him being the best player alive, people always perceive Messi to make a good guy etc.

Ronaldo always seems to be painted as some egotistical prick whereas Messi is the humble family man.

Recently though there were reports of Messi not fulfilling his promises regarding meeting fans at a charity match, some of which paid into the thousands.

Also add that to reports of tax irregularities

Now this picture emerges:

Report is this is Messi in Vegas and it's not his wife.

He seems to be showing a less likeable side of recent months - Will it effect any of your opinion on him?

I'm not a believer in the 'it doesn't matter what they do off the pitch' ethos people have - Certainly doesn't look good for him.

I'm not saying any of this behaviour is outrageous by the average man's actions; I guess it's because he's in the limelight. I just thought there was an interesting spiral of events regarding him in recent months.

Agree.

Although if anything, at the end of the day this guys shits and sleeps like every one of us.

I think for us in the UK, we saw Ronaldo as some young arrogant punk, where as Messi was this exotic player from abroad who we only saw the highlights of.

Certainly for me anyway.

Is that even him? I thought i saw Giles Brandreth once at Torture Garden, wearing a leather basque and some mean looking boots, but it turns out the guy just looked a bit like Brandreth, and had been told that before (i should've realised, even in a fetish club, the Brandreth wouldn't have dropped his trademark pullovers - what was i thinking?).

Likelyhood is now, assuming it is him, there'll be a statement about his wedding being on the rocks, but they want to mend the blah blah blah.

And yeah, he is a likeable guy and i even know why - Ronaldo doesn't smile often, and when he does he looks like a smug sombitch, Messi smiles pretty much all the time and gives the impression he's playing cos he loves playing, rather than playing so he can shake the stigma of being dressed up like a girl by his mum when he was 14.

It'd have to be a doppelganger now to be him IMHO.

Yeah I get that about Messi is a more likeable character on the pitch but I do feel Ronaldo has developed a reputation that perhaps precedes what he's actually like as a person; partially his fault for his younger demeanour and partially the press'.

Drenthe accused of him being racist when he played against him, did the same kind of Suarez did. Drenthe's word against Messi. Nothing proven but you'd have to ask why Drenthe would make shit up?

That was at real Ronaldo's party I think. If you can't have a good time at fat ronnie's place where can you have a good time

Because he played for Real Madrid? Not saying it's not true, but there's one possibility.

This doesn't actually mean anything, could have been a set up, he doesn't look too impressed and his wife is like a million times hotter

Could be, it's actually a very easy set up to do, all she has to do is grab his head into her breast and someone takes the picture.
