But Evans & Houlier didn't have to contend with the likes of Abramovich's chelsea and the billionaire ownership of other teams (and the general allround improvement in quality) or even a resurgent spurs did they. Their premiership was a slightly tamer affair than the one Benitez is playing in, don't you think ?
Do you not think Benitez is a good coach then or were you just splitting hairs because you're still miffed about Jol ?
I think he's a good coach, but not in the same class as Wenger or Mourinho, and I daresay if this were a Liverpool board you'd be giving your weekly commentary on his shortcomings and team selections. We need Ramos to be a good deal better.
