Wimmer did well last season. And VW gives the option to move Dier down as CB

could also present an opportunity for CCV

Equally it could see us pull the trigger on a potential CB transfer target we may have identified but not wanted to move on previously due to squad size

Either way I am not overly worried, Wimmer did a good job previously and it will enable him to continue to progress

Sad for Vertonghen though obviously, especially as it ruins his tournament

We have wimmer who has proven to be more than adequate plus dier could drop in there for the time being, should he be out for a lengthy spell.

If 6 -8 weeks is the recovery period, presumably by the time he then does a Poch pre season it will be another 3-4 weeks after that so probably won't see him until October.

Add another month on for the fact he's a Spurs player.

Perhaps we should be using the cryogenic chamber treatment for players injuries. I believe this was how Leicester players came back so quickly last year.
