Harry is well ahead of schedule but Danny will be touch and go to play the semi at this point in time!

Cheers JJ. Rose being back for the Chelsea game is so important for us. He occupies that whole left side against them in a way Davies can't. I'd even go as far as saying that if he plays we win, if he doesn't, it's a lot lot harder.

I think that we may aswell accept that Rose will miss the semi. He's been out for so long that he needs at least 2 or 3 games under his belt before he could play wing back on a pitch the size of Wembley.

It's been such a shame for Lamela this season, looked amazing pre season and he is arguably our best passer in the final third (i'm talking defence splitting) and who knows how many assists he would have recorded this year. Also, really excited to see how he plays in this new 3-4-3. I know Alli and Eriksen are playing well, but this is perfect for him, he needs to be more centrally positioned as this is where he offers most damage. Really sad stuff in our final year at WHL someone with his heart isn't playing out there right now..... hope he comes back motivated and stronger. Big part of our team and future plans in my eyes, really hoping his recovery goes well.

Very good comments from Poch re: Lamela (via the official site):

How frustrating is it that Erik Lamela now has to have surgery on his hip?
Mauricio: “We’ve taken different ways to try to help him to improve, we were very conservative but in the end it was impossible for him to fix the problem and the way that we are taking now we hope will help him to fix the problem and as soon as possible he will be with us to start his recovery. Now it’s important to give him all the support, all the love. For me, now he is not a player, he is a person – the human being is most important now and (we need) to try to help him. He has suffered a lot in the last four months and now the decision is important for him to believe that he can fix the problem and be on the pitch as soon as possible. It’s what he wants and what we want too.”

Can he play for Spurs again?
Mauricio: “Yes, of course. He is very young. It’s a situation that has allowed all to speak in different ways but we know very well what is happening, he knows very well too. It was a problem in his hip, we tried to fix it in different ways to try to avoid surgery but in the end we arrived at the last option and now we try to believe that is the way to fix the problem and, for him, the solution to be on the pitch again.”

You think I'm going to believe the manager of Tottenham Hotspur FC? Several people have already stated that Lamela was solely responsible for disobeying the club's wish for him to have surgery.

This stuff is great to read and shows just how lucky we are to have Poch leading us. Football has come a long way recently and people are now more open about things and expressing emotion etc. Back in the day, hard nosed bosses would get the results, essentially fuck feelings go to war boys and get me my results. But so much more now is to do with an arm round someones shoulder and not only being a manager but being father figure, life coach etc. We have that luck that Poch seems to be up there with the very best at sharing this side with his players but also stamping his authority as well. Way more favourable than the Mourinho approach, that makes him such a disliked manager these days.

Not only will this improve the results and team spirit which is clearing being seen, but it also makes it a lot harder for players to leave - listen to the way Hugo, Rose, Wanyama have recently spoken about him. When have we ever had such high profile players at the club so happy with our manager!!

A little bit off topic..... Sorry.

Mourinho's attitude to injury:

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.mi...chester-united-boss-jose-mourinho-9210041.amp

Essentially, they were injured but Mourinho either didn't believe them or wanted them to play anyway.
It's Mourinho's excuse mechanism kicking in isn't it? He said that they were going to challenge for the title at the beginning and now that he's miles off the mark he's pointing the finger of blame elsewhere. He will then spend another 200m in the summer and expect praise to be lavished upon him if he is successful. It's why I strongly dislike the bloke.

Does anyone know how bad Wanyama's injury is?

Such an important player for us.

Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BBC Sport:

"I'm very proud because it was a really tough game for us.

"We showed great character and I'm very proud and pleased because the performance in the second half was very good.

"This win is massive for us - we have to be there if Chelsea fail and we are there. We are fighting for the Premier League.

"When you reduce the gap to seven points it's completely different to 10 points - we just have to be there if Chelsea fail and want to be there until the end of the season.

"We're still waiting on Harry Winks but Victor Wanyama got a big knock on his back and hopefully it's not a big issue for him.

"Harry Kane is good, he's doing things on the pitch and may be back in a few weeks."
