Cheer for that. The dubious Google translation of the Deportivo article. Doesn't sound like Saul to Chelsea is necessarily dead.

Just that they've failed to seduce him. So presumably the hole remains unfilled!

There are practically hours until the end of the summer market and Saúl will play this season for Atlético de Madrid. MD has confirmed that the last option he had on the table to go to Chelsea has been vanished. In this way, his departure is practically ruled out unless it is a last minute offer that they do not expect either in the club or in the player's environment.

The last contacts with Chelsea did not finish to seduce a Saúl that if he left the club it had to be because of a proposal that won him over. Something that has not happened in the conversations they have had with the blue outfit. And it is that his exit was not easy. “Where will it be better than at Atleti?”, They confess to us from their surroundings. Without a doubt, this question has been the main obstacle to leaving the club.

He seems similar in size, position, age (18) and style of play to Sarr. I’m sure somebody knows better….please enlighten me.

Sarr is more defensive where Moriba is more box to box. Moriba can defend but more of the Ndombele role than Sarr. Can even fill in at Attacking mid. Fits the profile of the 433 we've been playing so far.

Ilaix Moriba prefers Tottenham, his agents would prefer Leipzig. Tottenham are making a better offer to the player but are unwilling to pay the agents and the entourage a lot. (Ferran Martinez)

I've never watched Sarr (beyond YouTube) or Ilaix. Would a future midfield 3 of Gill-Sarr-Ilaix have potential (with apologies to Skippy)?

Thing that puts me a bit more at ease is Paratici is probably more well-versed/willing to handle overly greedy agents than the likes of Levy.

More likely all 4 with 2 up top. I can see Bryan converting to a number ten as his game matures. Diamond with Skipp at the base, Sarr and Ilaix as the two box to box players and Bryan as the creativity.

Assume we’ve made jokes about hoping his agent doesn’t have a motorbike in the office / maroon three-piece suits?

If not please can you deposit some funnies here? Thanks.

It is worrying me we've not heard anything about this from the Italian journos, namely Fab. He said he'd heard nothing about it in his stream earlier... Really hope this isn't all a big wild goose chase
