Ian Wright has been left baffled by criticism of Tottenham Hotspur’s playing style from some pundits, as per his comments to the Wrighty’s House podcast.

I always enjoy MotD more when Wrighty and JJ are on it. When it's Shearer and random_player1 I don't even bother listening to the 'analysis'.

Souness and Redknapp were terrible on the show, it's a shame Sky didn't have anyone else as most others have been quick to point out how they disagree with the views of those two. Neville did try in fairness.

He's alright for a gooner.

I do find Sky pundits very annoying, especially this thing they do now during the game, LETS BRING IN JAMIE REDKNAPP TO SEE WHAT HE THINKS

Then he spends 2 minutes trying to act cool like a kid who is trying to impress Gary Neville, the cool kid at school and is desperate for his approval or acknowledgement.

Makes me happy I don't have Sky. Yeah I don't get to see the games, but I don't have to listen to that **** either. Net win I think.

He was even worse when he was in the studio T Henry, he was like a star struck kid who couldn’t wait for a advertisement break so he could rush off for a wank because Henry had spoken to him,...... it was, err, don’t you think so Thiery?

Some fans like the football, some don't. Some pundits like it, some don't.

The only thing that matters is that we're top and Arsenal are shit.

Yeah which was great to see. I like how other pundits are saying they don't understand 'some people's' reaction to Spurs and the game but they all have Souness and Redknapp in mind.

Give it a rest, he was a vile **** of a footballer, played for the scum and now just because he smiles a bit on tv we forget all that?
Fuck him, he's gooner scum and always will be.
Wow. Lot of unresolved anger in that post of yours.
Have you not seen how he’s grown as a human-being from difficult circumstances?
Have a listen to Colin Murray’s podcast with Ian Wright, or Desert Island discs.
He has a lot more depth to him than being just an ex-footballer that smiles a bit on tv.

Wow. Even when he played for them I couldn’t help like him. Think he’s a sound guy

I used to say this a lot, but then I grew up and matured and got past the tribal nonsense and bias, I have faith in you to do the same, there's still time.

I disagree. He's a human, he had a good career and totally merits having his views heard, and he now speaks (often very interestingly) with respect about football and about Spurs. It's disapointing to me when Spurs fans don't speak with respect.

I love it when we smash Arsenal, but I'd miss them if they were gone (although obviously I wouldn't mind at all if they moved back south of the river where they belong). Strong local rivals are part of the fun.

It was part of Wrights job to hate us when he played for Arsenal. Have no problem with that, in fact I like it. I mean, who actually wants Arsenal players to like us?

What’s great about Wright is that he’s a pundit now and therefore his job role has changed and his outlook along with it. He’s balanced and fair. It’s when you get ex players from rival clubs who have clearly not left their playing days behind them and hang onto that tribal element they had when they played that’s the annoying thing coz they’re paid to be objective (This is perhaps debatable though tbf).
