Athletico have managed to keep Simeone even though there must have been some serious enquiries from bigger teams, especially last season when there was so many managerial changes at major clubs.
We just need to match Poch's ambition which we are currently doing, the new stadium is a massive pull as is CL football. We are in the process tying down most of our major players to long term contracts as well. The only thing I could see going wrong is some kind of falling out with Levy but I honestly think Levy recognises how important Pochettino is to us. He's arguably the perfect manager for our current situation in which we have to be even more financially stringent than normal due to funding the new stadium.
I know it's been posted before but this video is spot on:
Nobody has said he doesn't deserve credit and respect, certainly not me. I'm simply saying he isn't a great manager or a top manager. He is a very good manager who has the potential to be great.Us Spurs Fans are a tough crowd come on the Guy deserves a massive amount of respect we are really lucky to have him, its down to Poch we are in the position we are in and lets be honest we have tried and tested a lot of managers.
Great or top? Is there a dfference? If you want to solely use the "great" argument about having to prove that descriptive by winning things, then can't argue with you. I still don't think that's what "great" means in my book, but still.Nobody has said he doesn't deserve credit and respect, certainly not me. It's subjective really, I would say Raneri is a great manager for his achievement last season but I would say Ancilloti is a top manager, another level above.Great or top? Is there a dfference? A "top" manager transforms teams and can take them to higher levels over the course of one or more seasons. Poch's done that...also think he's great!
Until we lose a game at which point there will be a thread saying he's tactically inept, has no plan b, picks the wrong team and has a porky pig face.
Unfortunately money talks in all aspects of life, so that would be the main reason i see Poch leaving us.Poch has been an incredible coach to us, no matter how he is perceived in an international sense. We all know that things can rapidly change in football, but there's no reason to expect Poch wanting to leave what so ever. He has proven to be a magnificent coach when it comes to young talents, and when he arrived he had to get rid of the old guard whom didn't see eye to eye with his methods. What would be left if he had to get rid of all the divas at the top clubs?
Why wouldn't Poch want to stay, when he has the youngest and most talented squad in the richest and toughest league at hand while having complete faith from players and board alike. What's more appealing than the possibility to create history and make a top international team with what used to be sub top team in the BPL before his arrival. For all I know, he could become the next Ferguson of Tottenham Hotspur with a decade of great achievements in the future to come. It might never come so far, but let's just enjoy the great potential at hand without any doomsday scenarios to spoil the ride.

Pochettino is an Espanyol man as well, so if he managed Barcelona, he'd get a lot of hate.Poch won't be going anywhere for a while. Got everything he wants here. Barcelona would be my only worry, but definitely not either of the Madrid clubs. Atletico would be at best a sideways move, or even a backward one. And the idea of of getting Ronaldo to go for double training sessions wouldn't appeal to him. Real need managers that player generic, not overly tactical football that involves getting as many star studded names on the pitch as possible. Coaches who use the term "philosophy" don't do well there.
I actually don't think Barcelona would appeal to him either. 20 year old footballers may be attracted to the Spanish lifestyle, but 40 year managers seem to prefer the English lifestyle. It's not just the money that lures them here. Wenger hasn't been at Arsenal for 20 years out of loyalty to Arsenal, he just likes living in England too much, as do Mourinho, Benitez and others. Wouldn't surprise me if Guadiola's here more than his usual 3 years and Klopp's made a long term commitment at Liverpool.
Where is Poch's wife from? That will tell you where he is likely to go in the future.Poch won't be going anywhere for a while. Got everything he wants here.
