Suazo closes in on move
Chilean star linked with Spurs switch

Chilean star Humberto Suazo insists he is set to move to Europe in the New Year, with reports suggesting he is bound for the Premier League.
Suazo is currently finishing the Mexican season with Monterrey.

The 28-year-old striker is due to play in the two-legged Apetrua finals against Cruz Azul

over the next week, but he confirmed they would be his final games before departing.

Suazo would not reveal the identity of the club he is destined for, but insisted talks are ongoing.

Reports in Central and South America

claim the club in question could be Tottenham.

"Once I end my participation with Monterrey in the championship finals my idea is to travel at once to Europe and keep up conversations with the team that is interested in me," Suazo said.

"I hope that I can travel being the new Mexican champion with Monterrey.
"The negotiations are very much advanced and I have to continue them in a few days. Before I travel to Europe I want to be part of the team that could give Monterrey a new title.

"I can't and I don't want to say the name of the team with which I am having conversations.

"The only thing that I can say for sure is that these two games against Cruz Azul will be my last two games wearing the shirt of Monterrey."

Good whoring ever!

I know nothing of this chap apart from that someone somewhere was saying that he's a bit of a chunky monkey.
A Chilean Andy Reid?

Can anyone shed any actual light on him?

Very skillful, stocky, but I really really really dont think we are the team.

Is he going to get ahead of our three strikers (excluding Pav)? No. Is he going to move to a team where he wont play in the build up to a world cup? No. Would Harry think he would do well in the Prem? No.

It. Wont. Happen.

I'll buy everyone on here a beer if we sign him.

Posted this on another thread but...

I watched Chile play a fair bit this last year, and Suazo was the top scorer in the South American World Cup qualifiers, but he is definitely not cut-out for the Premier League. Very thick set build (fat), and lazy as hell

Honestly don't think this 'rumour' is in anyway true.

I can see him going to someone like Birmingham. He wont move to Spurs to sit on the bench. He's 28 years old, he'll want regular 1st team football.

ppppllleeeeaaaassseeee.....!

He has scored ridiculous amounts of goals at every club he has been at, albeit lesser sides, but still you gotta put them away, make chances etc.
He scored against a class side, Brazil, 3 months ago, and has also agaianst other international sides.
He was top goal scorer in the south american or whatever it is, World cup qualifying campaign. (Fabiano runner up)
Should sign (if true), for not much money, and we be back up.

Not worth a punt people?, please?!

He has a massive scoring record everywhere he's went

He scored one of the best goals in the Copa America 2007 against eventual winners Brazil.

Suazo is a top, top forward. I've wanted him to come to Spurs for several years now.

A Defoe alternative, not exactly what I believe we are in need of at the moment.

Based on that goal ALONE... bring him to Spurs!

Besides that... he should stay in Mexico

Playing in London in January is different from playing in Mexico I'd imagine. Not to even mention adjustment to the level of the EPL.
