Do clubs still do testimonials? he certainly deserves to come back for one when he does leave us

Whilst acknowledging the fact that Hugo has had a difficult season at times, generally he has been magnificent in his time with us, and is our captain. It would be sad if the Newcastle game was his last.

Very rarely. In times gone by, it was often arranged after 10 years at a club (which Hugo has) but the proceeds went to the player as a thank you and a fair old boost to their pension pot, given what they were typically earning back then.

Nowadays clearly the players don't (or shouldn't!) need the money and I vaguely recall someone like Giggs having a testimonial but donating the proceeds to charity.

Seeing as we usually have a home friendly, it would be easy to brand it for Hugo and donate to charity/Spurs foundation. But it would also be easy for the club to keep it as a friendly and pocket the cash
