No way, Hudd has loads of potential, he just had a stinker today. he's 20 for fuck sake, as if you're writing him off! Carrick was fucking dogshit at 20.

Hudd was terrible this afternoon, constantly giving away posession and constantly out of position. Our CM in general was taken to school today, only ever got any joy going forward out of the wings.

Steed was excellent today, nice to see him pull out a performance after 2 relatively poor ones.

Huddlestone was crap (again) today.

Personally, I can't wait for Ramos to get stuck into the nightclub kids and kick their arses.

I hope you're right but I actually think his lack of mobility and general lack of positional sense may prevent him from being a top Premiership player. It's a shame because he normally has a good range of passing, but that's useless if he can't get near anyone to get the ball.

Zokora and Steed in the middle for me on Wednesday.

Huddlestone has no potential. We need to sell him. A top Championship team will pay £3m hopefully.

Huddlestone has a huge potential, but he do not live up to it - yet. If he had played his game easy, he had done better, but he always tried to find the genius pass, which never works out. He has to play short passes instead - that would improve him as a player. He destroys his game by playing quick long passes.

Problem is, Huddlestone and Zokora are always shabby when paired together.

Neither of them inspire me as our full-time holding midfilder either...

We need a tough, able to tackle and pass defensive midfielder with good mobility, leadership skills and the ability to boss a game (from reports in our every so reliable Sunday Press it appears Jol asked for one of these and didn't get - don't shout at me DFF I'm just repeating what has been written! )

This player (whoever it may be) can then partner Jenas or Tainio in the middle of the pitch.

If these 2 then continue not to perform, ship 'em out!!!

Although I do reckon Jenas should get more credit as games I've watched him in he nicks some good balls from the opposition (just reckon he needs a decent defensive midfielder alongside him who gives him the confidence to be able to attack!).

I agree Huddlestone was very poor again today. Im sure someone who knows the game as well as Ramos will be able to see the glaring obvious thing that we've had to endure- our centre midfield is absolute shite!! Its the most important area of the pitch and its where we are weakest, which is a damning appraisal of our spending in recent seasons. Hudd, Zokora, Tainio and Jenas wouldnt get near the starting 11 of our (supposed) rivals e.g Everton, Newcastle, Blackburn, Man city etc. They wouldnt even get into the starting 11 of shite teams like West ham and Middlesbrough! Id rather have Parker, Noble or Boatang than any of the like of Hudd/Zokora theyre just not good enough. Simple as that

Agreed, the cm's in our squad are just not good enough, and worryingly not likely to get any better. January can't come quick enough for me.

Zokora is out most important central midfielder, and hopefully Ramos will get the best out of him.....

he was very strong on the ball. Granted his passing was overly ambitous at times but he did at least hold the ball fairly well. I am a huge huddlestone fan and have seen him play much better than this but he was not the worst player for us today.

Is he going to teach him how to carry the kit bag and prepare the half time oranges?

I actually thought he was pretty good today to be fair to him. I think I'm now firmly of the belief that if it's a choice between Zokora and Huddlestone then it would be Zokora every time.

It's a shame we're having to debate between such poor players though.

Carrick was a full international at 18. Huddlestone will never be anywhere near as good.

But didn't take nearly 4 years for him to get his second cap?

Which will improve with experience.

Maybe. Don't want to watch him learning for too much longer though as it costs us badly.

Personally I don't think he'll improve that much, but either way he's not good enough at the moment.
