Do you know what? I can't remember.

All i remember is my late Dad took me to a game. I must have only been about 6 so giving my age away it must have been about 1970. All i know is that a brass band was on the pitch. I can't even remember if it was before the game even started or at half time to be honest. All i remember is that we were standing at the front of the shelf near the paxton road end and my dad was reading the programme.

Then he heard the the dreaded words any dad doesn't want to hear. "Dad i want to go home"...I pestered him so much that he relented and swore to my mum that he would never take me again. Of course he did and i remember some great games. Beating Leeds at home in the early seventies to avoid relegation. Being at the home leg of the 74 UEFA cup final against Feynoord ....

And i have been on that Spurs supporting roller coaster ever since..

Spurs beat Lazio pre-season in 93. I'm pretty sure a certain S.Campbell was in his (or one of his) first season(s), supporting a very BellBivDevoe-esque afro...

Before that I had been to two away games in '89 - Norwich and QPR - both draws (I think).

1983 home vs Ipswich won 3 - 1.

Alan Brazil (2), Mabbutt. Paul Mariner scored for them.

1993 v Norwich 1-3, Barmby scored ours. Sutton scored 2 for Norwich. They were really good at the time. I think they came 3rd in the league or something...

O-0 draw against Luton in thd 87/88 season it was boxing day so I was 2 months shy of my 8th bday. Fenwick missed a penalty, I was in the Paxton which at the time was still behind blue fencing and all standing. Terrible match, but with my dad and granddad I was very much enchanted by the whole event of watching a match and fell in love with Spurs and football. I remember the 88 euro championships and being obsessed with Van Basten after his goal vs Russia in the final (now I feel very old)

We beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1. It was either 1963 or 1964. I was 3 years old. I don't remember any details of the match itself, but do remember how big the pitch looked from high up behind one of the goals (no idea if it was the Paxton or Park Lane). Also remember being amazed at seeing such a massive crowd. But then, a crowd of a few hundred would seem massive to a 3 year old!

We beat Norwich 5-1 at the Lane. Think Ruddock, Barmby, Nayim scored possibly Teddy aswell? I have no idea of the year must have been early nineties, anyone recall it?

Yeah he did your right, that bloke could hit a ball! 93 would sound about right, I was born in 82 and was thinking i must have been 10/11. I have still not seen Spurs lose. I have probably been to about 15-20 matches, as living in Devon and playing football myself on a saturdays I struggle to get to watch them.

I'm definitely a good luck charm (well that's how I see it!). Once my legs have gone and I cant play anymore I will have to get a season ticket, then we may go the whole season unbeaten!

1-1 against Mansfield - don't remember it though as was VERY young.

I took an ex to her first ever football match when we beat Oldham 5-0 and scored three in the first five or so minutes - had to tell her it wasn't like that every time.

Aged 9, 1991/92 season V Southampton. Linekar played but no Gazza, lost 2-1 with an amazing goal from Shearer and Mabbutts consolation volley at the end my main memories, alongside the excitement and the walk up from Severn Sisters. Sat in West and have never been back there in the 20 or so games I have returned to the Lane!

1966 - 67 season stood right at the bottom of the Paxton closest to the pitch on a box to see over the wall and watched Spurs beat Leeds 3-1 and it was the day Dave Mackay sorted out Billy Bremner :) I remember it but now days I wonder if I remember it or if I remember remembering it if you kow what I mean. I must have been 10.

PS this must have been the same as you 'TheChosenone.

Looking back i can still remember me & my brother walking back up the main road after the game, all the traffic lights were out - someone said this was routine due to the floodlights taking up all the power ?? Can anyone vouch for this ?

How on earth do you guys remember? I have not got a scooby what my first game was. When I was a kid I used to go to Swindon games with my mate and his Dad, after we moved to Wiltshire, but I can't remember my first game there either.

I can never seem to conjour up the details of any but the most important/significant games. All this "Mabbutt scored the equaliser against Kingston Bagpuize in a pre season friendly played in a swarm of flying ants, Gazza took two swigs of water as he left the pitch at half time and the ref was a dead ringer for Tommy Cooper" stuff has long since been replaced in my brain by facts even more mundane.

What's the name of that condition that old people get when they can't remember stuff? Ohhhhh, it's on the tip of my tongue. I tell a lie, it was a Tuesday, cos on Tuesday we have lamb chops and I remember the mint sauce aftertaste. Anyway, we avoided the B247 because of the roadworks so I took the A45 down to Swithins Boltacre, did a left and a right past the old asylum, took the left fork at the water tower and knocked two minutes off the journey time, which meant we got the seats by the window for our cream tea. Lovely cup of tea they do there, with proper sugar out of pourers, not this modern muck in packets that you can't open without it spilling all over the table.
