How can I file a complaint to authorities against the official shop as an overseas fan?

Hi all,

I have been contacting the club's customer service regarding the VAT deduction from displayed prices for overseas orders. However they had been replying the same thing to me without substantial response. I have been fed up with the customer service and now I would like to file a complaint to authorities in hope to force the official shop to take action. However, as an overseas customer how can I make a complaint against an UK merchant? Thanks.

Could you explain a bit more please, what is the issue?

According to the terms and conditions on the official site, for overseas customers outside the EC the UK VAT included in prices displayed will be automatically deducted. For a kit displayed as GBP65, GBP43.33 would be billed after deduction of VAT. However in my previous order there was no such deduction. The CS claimed that they "updated" the website and the pricing to provide an improved shipping experience.

The price in GBP on the email receipt doesnt match up with the price in USD either - something funky is happening.

Just to point out, your vat exclusive price is very wrong (should be £54.17 net).

Trading standards would be the people to contact.

Surely if the price is incorrect you would need to challenge it before you check out. Once you submit payment your agreeing the contract to pay x amount and therefore any body would have little to go on.

If the service you are getting isn't good enough then ask to speak to a head of depot or someone.

Seriously just let it go.
The club have got enough to worry about right now without Rogue Traders getting involved.

i not asking for a refund though, all i want is just an answer from the official shop whether they mischarged or they are some kind of pushing up the price by not deducting the VAT anymore

The exchange rate between USD and GBP is calculated by your credit card company (or PayPal or whatever) at the exact second the transaction goes through electronically (not by the merchant selling the goods). I've bought enough shit from the UK to know that going to a site that tells you what the exchange rate is that day is pointless. It will never match up.

Of course this doesn't mean the Spurs Shop isn't ripping you off. They probably are.... ;)

If you paid by card, visa or mastercard etc. try complaining to to your card supplier.
