I think players and fans expected an easy night tonight.

Either way, flat all round.

For the past few seasons I've done more away games than home games for this exact reason. My last home game was the Sunderland 4-1 and until we went 2-1 up you couldn't get a song started in the south lower for love nor money. I'm not sure if there's an expectation around the lane or whether 'real fans' are being priced out or what but it was pretty shocking and is just all feels like too much effort to me. Away games on the other hand, absolutely amazing. I've done Milan (0-1), Madrid, Fiorentina, West Ham (2-3) etc and there is no feeling like it. I'm not sure where these fans sit at the lane because away from home we're unbelievable but at home you're just told to sit down by stewards and made to feel like an idiot by the fans sitting quietly with their packed lunch.

I think the game yesterday affected the atmosphere, not so much Leicester winning but Swansea not even trying.

Crowd was really good until the equaliser then it got tense.

Those watching at home do realise the "atmosphere" is in part down to the broadcasters don't they?

I agree. At one point I tried to start a rendition of 'Oh When The Spurs...' but the guy next to me was all like "Well, if those Welsh bastards can't be bothered then why should I!?"

I was at the game (south lower) it was absolutely buzzing down there for most of the game and we clapped the players off
Was in south lower too and thought we had fair amount of noise. Second half was bit flatter but every player was still getting their own songs and noise lifted when they equalised (flattened off with the delays breaking up the game)

Not been very much of late, but I thought the range of songs was much better than I remember.

Not quite flat, but tense, yes. And got worse as the 2nd half progressed.

I was in the west lower for my sins. But thought it was a decent atmosphere tonight. We got behind the lads, just because we dont wave fucking annoying clappers about for 90 mins!

We clapped them off and actually sung them off as well. I thought concidering our season went down the swanny tonight we were pretty vocal and positive

The atmosphere was ok - i've been to worse games tbh, but i would say all this negative press interviews of rival players & managers showing their support & publicly saying they don't want Spurs to win the title etc... must be very disheartening when it seems like its us versus the world. I'd love to see how many of the same players & managers say the same thing at the beginning of next season as lets be honest, there wasn't a single player in the dressing room of Chelsea that actually wanted their own team to win the league at the beginning of this season & if i was a fan of that club i would be very worried about the personel they are currently employing.

First half tonight especially thought the atmosphere was pretty decent, even immediately after they scored the crowd rallied. Certainly earlier in the season there were games where we, the crowd, were quiet, sometimes even toxic with the whole booing bollocks.

Atmosphere's across football are not what they used to be. I just don't think tonight was particularly noticeably poor.
I remember the crowd carrying a spurs side losing by 3 goals needing 4 against Seville, chanting non stop for 80 mins

Here we are on course for our greatest season ever and the atmosphere isn't as good as it was under Jol's blue and white army. I havent got a video of the seville match but people who remember it, will know its not too dissimilar to this

I was only watching from home so can only judge from what you could hear on the TV, which can usually give you an alright indication of the crowds feeling.

The first half it seemed decent enough by our standards. In the second half the crowd raised it for a minute or so after their goal but then seemingly fell silent. The players were struggling and it seemed like they really needed a pick up from the crowd.

I know it works both ways, where the crowd reacts to the players etc but towards the end of this amazing season I thought the fans would have given more 'oomph' to the support, regardless of our sloppy play, in the second half in order to try and get us across the line particularly when the chips were down.

When home support gets really vocal it energies the players and I think it could have helped not only give that extra level for our players, but also to make WBA doubt themselves and who knows what difference that could have made.

Oh when the Spurs has died a death now, for me. Still prefer us to sing it rather than nothing of corse.

The thing is you don't have to have songs to have atmosphere. Just yelling and clapping and avoiding the moans can go a huge way. Maybe fewer old farts (myself included) would help, certainly I was noisier 30 years ago that I am now. There was a time when there weren't many songs at all but there was still atmosphere. Does anyone recall the famous Roker Roar? Or the Pompey Chimes? Or just clapping and shouting Tot'num as in "da da, da da da, da da da da Tot'num". For fuck sake that place could and should have been a cauldron tonight and it wasn't.
