Head Coach = DoF?

With Freund now confirmed as Assistant Head Coach and AVB as Head Coach, is this just a change in nomenclature alone or will there be a DoF coming in, and if so, who?

Have yet to see any announcement, thoughts?

No I dont think so. I'd say the responsibilities have been split with Levy handling transfer negotiations and contracts etc and Sherwood continuing with the Technical side of things such as the youth set-up and the players coming through the club.

Then obviously AVB will have his input into these areas as well (especially Sherwoods side of things) and I would hope will build a scouting network to discover players rather than having to buy players who have reached there premium value.

Pretty much all the respected ITKs have said there won't be a DoF.

I think he has had some input into the players we hve bought recently, he I imagine has scouts working on his behalf, he seems to have done pretty well at the moment.

Indeed. Not just at the moment either, I feel quite confident he's had something to do with most transfers made under HR as well.

Is he though? I mean he's relatively inexperienced, what is the post supposed to do barring overseeing transfers etc.?

Comolli seemed to advise Levy (pretty poorly at times), who's actually driving the proverbial bus?

I'm poorly versed in the subject of contract and employment law, but could the change of job titles from Harry to AVB be anything to do with making Harry redundant [I'm speculating as a discussion point here] rather than sacking him? Was it necessary to change the title of the incoming replacement for some contractual reason when getting rid of HR, despite the new job having essentially the same function/role?

From what I have read AVB took time out after chelsea to travel round "scoutIng" players in different countries so I'm pretty sure he has a pretty good knowledge of players. Levy likes doing the negotiations so we have no need for a DOF IMO.

Except the older players. I think he looked at them as stop gaps till the new manager came in. So did ok for me. Let Harry but a few that wouldn't do too much damage

Precisely this.

Sherwood, AVB and Levy are the ones working on transfers, and have been since around the middle of June.

Sherwood definitely going to play a large part by all accounts.

i dont know where this whole Sherwood/ DOF story came from. He was managing he reserves last night!
