With Tottenham Hotspur hosting Swansea City tonight, it is a reunion for a few old faces, with Gylfi Sigurdsson set to return to White Hart Lane.

Creatively it is Sigurdsson that excels further. With more chances created (2.71 to 2.07), more key passes (2.31 to 1.80) and more assists (0.39 to 0.27) the Icelander is showing Spurs exactly what they're missing.

How much did he cost Swansea, or was his transfer a straight swap for Davies?

The blunder was made last season when our previous manager preferred to play him wide, if he'd been given the opportunity in the middle who knows what would have been.
Anyway we move on....

He didn't do much in the game we won down at their place, iirc.

We all like the player but some players just dont work at some clubs, it's just the way it goes sometimes.

Bound to have a worldy tonight tho! ha!

We got £10mill. for Siggy; I would guess Levy wouldn't have taken a £20 mill. loss on Lamela.
So Lamela is still here and Siggy has gone.

Always liked Siggy and i'm guessing he still has a fondness for Spurs and our players - he was standing with our players rather than huddle with his own team when Gomis went down last night - but the truth is, we simply can't accommodate both Siggy AND Eriksen, plus Siggy is too good to be warming the bench. Shame he had to go, but Eriksen is class!

I like Siggy a lot and was very happy when we signed him. He's a good footballer with an excellent attitude. He was unlucky to be played out of position when he was with us and the arrival of Eriksen squeezed him right out of the picture. He needs first team football and Swansea play some good stuff so overall I'm happy for him and the 10m we got for him.

I don't think he was ever given a fair chance under AVB/Sherwood (or obviously MP) as he wasn't given a consistent run in the side in the CAM role he seems to thrive on. He was mostly played on the left of a two or three at the top.

Certainly though Eriksen offers more in terms of goals and a creative spark and Gylfi's height makes me compare him more to Chadli, who excels from the left.

So no, probably not a blunder but he may have been able to show off more of his quality had he been played more consistently in his preferred role.
