Looked tidy in possession and took most of the set pieces. On the negative side he's as he was at Spurs. Wants to be on the pitch but doesn't want the ball. Hiding in plain sight. Involved in the winning goal too, unfortunately.

I was surprised he played the full 90mins.

Thought it was a solid game for his first start. Got the ball forward quickly at times. Wasn't pressed at all so had the time he needed on the ball.

Sampdoria should have scored at least 1. They are missing a good striker, but Winks involved in the 2 good chances they did get

Stuff like this is probably why he gets such a bad rep. Very classless attack against his parent club and people say he’s one of our own. Hopefully not allowed to train with first team once he comes back pre season.

But it's fine for what fans say about him?

Liking tweets about spurs losing whilst still being a contracted player (and boyhood fan) isn’t exactly going to help any abuse he gets though is it?

It won't. I just don't think fans should get upset after they abuse players so much that they basically turn round and stick two fingers back up at them.

Could just as easily be him liking the post about never doubting Pep’s opinion in the context of him saying that Winks is a good player in the past. Shouldn’t jump to any conclusions from a simple tap of a like button really
