Makes a lot of sense.

It's weird that some articles yesterday was so dismissive of a deal between Everton and Winks. I assume it meant not in p-ex for Richarlison but one article even said Lampard didn't want him.

Could well be a sign of Everton's desperation as no-one else appears to be in for Richarlison. Instead of sell Richarlison for less than £50m and suffer terrible PR we'll give you £60m+ but you have to take Winks off our hands with delayed payment until next summer to ease your financial issues.

Yes I think this is exactly what is happening. A big PR dance going on.

Fully expect Gordon to sign a new contract also to get some positive feeling around the club ahead of the takeover.

I mean do we have validify absolutely everything on here? Not directly aimed at you mate.

It would be incredibly strange of someone to lie about Everton ITK saying winks loan plus obligation.
I'm not suggesting he's lying, I'm just asking where it's from lol. Same as when people ask for full articles on stuff.

I disagree, I actually think that would be par for the course in the strange parallel universe that is football ITK, which for some reason leads people to believe anything and everything.

Who and where?

He shared me the link, I was dubious at first due to the number of followers but it's also a new account.

He also said he's been through all posts regarding Everton and has got alot bang on and says he clearly has links at Everton. Also mentioned about their interest in Zinchencko over a month ago, which apparently is now coming to light.

Appreciate if this probably isn't considered reliable so I'll delete my initial post.

Seen another saying £16m and that Winks has already done all the in house media stuff for the deal this week.

I'd imagine there'd be a decent amount of add ons on top of that.

So potentially 44m for Richarlison and moving Winks on.

Good deal IMO.

Yeah, I think it is impossible to argue against that being anything but a good deal.

I am sure I read somewhere that they want to sell Richarlson before the 30 June and then sign Winks in next years accounting period so the purchase cost sits in there. So two separate deals makes sense. I'm sure Levy will add on a few quid to the Winks deal for us being so co-operative, and so he should!

Unless it's purely for HG reasons, I can't think why Everton would want winks?
I wonder if Lampard pushed for him or if Lampard is having Winks pushed on him?
I don't mean to bash on Winks, but after all these years, I don't know what kind of Midfielder he is. Although the same could of been said for Bentaleb, Mason, Liver more and Carroll.
Best of luck to him.

Think they need bodies and a mid-20s, PL proven, homegrown player for 16m isn't a bad deal really.

If you play him in a midfield 3 and put the right players alongside him, he can be a very effective metronome in the middle, especially in a possession team.

Think he might do OK at Everton if they use him in the right way and play a decent CDM alongside him.

He's a player who can sit and keep the ball ticking over in a possession based team. What he can't do is defend space in a defensive or counter-attacking side. Hence why he struggled for us under Jose and Nuno, and only had fleeting appearances under Conte.

Played in a system that suits his strengths, under a manager who believes in him, he is a perfectly decent premier league midfielder.

From what I remember of Lampard at Chelsea he ideally wants his teams to play possession-based high pressing football, so if he's looking to implement that at Everton there is no reason why Winks can have some success there.
