Probably one of the most pointless players in PL. Doesn’t defend, doesn’t create, doesn’t score goals. May as well just play with 10 men.

We've won 3/8 games he's started in the prem this year. Those opponents being:
  • Everton
  • Southampton
  • Newcastle
  • Wolves
  • Leeds
  • Fulham
  • Crystal Palace
  • Aston Villa
I know its an over simplification to say all these games were his fault but he no doubt drags the quality of the side down every time he steps on the field.

Yep so the coach knows that he is limited and therefore deploy him against so-called weakers teams.
The worse problem is we didn't win more of those..

This is the problem. Play sissoko or winks in the team and you’re playing with 10. Neither of them want the ball on the half-turn.
winks has perfected the art of looking busy, without actually doing anything. His performance yesterday was another example of him trying to play without blame. Constantly hiding, or when he did receive the ball, playing teammates into trouble.
He must be horrible to play with

He's started two games since Mason came in and annoyingly they were probably the most important fixtures, one being a cup final and the other being our biggest chance of Europa League football. So fucking frustrating how so many experienced, knowledgable football people can't seem to see how absolutely pointless he is as a football player.

It's mindblowing isn't it. How on earth do people get paid large sums of money, and select him for football matches? How can MAson stand on the touchline and not see he is utter tripe? He has no redeeming qualities at all. The biggest negative I can say, is he is a coward on the ball. He put his team mates into trouble and under pressure by passing back and sideways when they shouldn't be getting the ball. He is supposed to be a ball playing CM, but he isn't. he's a fraud.

As I say, he's stealing a living at Spurs. He shouldn't be anywhere near the squad, let alone the starting 11.

Unfortunately it seems that Mason is trying singlehandedly to revive the careers of his mates.

I can’t imagine any other reason you’d play Dier, Winks or Dele when there are better options within the squad.

If anything it’s probably done the reverse and highlighted to anyone watching (if they didn’t know already) that they really aren’t of the required calibre.

It’s either naive incompetence or sabotage. To be naturally that poor warrants a sacking to actually deliberately be that poor to help your mates is terrible. Which is worse?

Something I've been wondering lately, is there a problem with the way our academy is coaching midfielders or is it just really really difficult to be an adequate midfielder in a top half PL team??

When I think about the guys that have come through the system in CM in recent years, they all seem to be "jack of all, master of none" type of players.
I don't know what type of midfielder Mason, Livermore, Carroll, Winks Bentaleb and now Skipp are?
They all seemed to be quite tidy on the ball, but not effective at either end of the pitch.

We all want him to succeed as he is a spurs lad, but the truth of it i he is nowhere near good enough, too slow on the turn, poor at defending th middle and does not score or create enough, jack of all trades, bit sadly an expert in little, bottom half of the prem or championship player at best sadly.

Can't include Skipp just yet but I just think the others stepped up and ultimately weren't able to replicate what they were doing a level or two below the first team simply because they don't have the quality to make a meaningful impact in the first team. Just appears when that happens, it's almost as though they resort to becoming triers who give 100% and do a bit of everything without excelling at one particular area to at least give themselves a chance of a squad position as there's a realisation it's a massive step up and they can't do what they did in the youth teams.

In the case of Winks, Mason and Carroll, never really convinced they had/have the physical attributes to impose themselves in this league. They were second best or usually just brushed aside in physical duels although Mason would certainly try and show some fight. The other two are lightweights and Winks currently shits himself whenever someone runs at him/closes him down because he knows he'll end up giving the ball away.

Also, I think the HG rule means in some situations some clubs are happy bringing up and carrying a player or two they know are not up to at first team level because it helps them meet the quota without having to go out there and spend on HG players who carry a premium. They probably hope they can at least come useful squad players but sometimes they are not even good enough for that.

the abuse this boy gets. he was decent enough yesterday, at least in the first half. didnt watch the second.

I want to agree with you, however, three great performances (Fulham last minute goal, Dortmund and Madrid) didn't make Harry the immortal he thinks he is.

These minor performances, coupled with his unnecessary petulant outbursts to his friends in the London media have truly tarnished his reputation as, 'one of our own.'

Oh..and take Dier, Dele and Mason with you.

It's time to move this great club forward, we've been looking and hoping in the past way too long. Unfortunately, I've unwillingly accepted there's a slow painful rebuild ahead.

Maybe so, but let's be honest, he's absolutely no business being in a Premier League squad. Never has.

Just my onions Fort... he's one of the few pieces of deadwood that need shifted ASAP

Hope you're safe

This one is on Levy, who always think he know better than the manager, for keeping Winks and Ali instead of sending them out on loan.

Thanks for sabotaging team morale and undermining Mourinho.

Thought he was competent for the first 20 minutes or so and then got steadily worse culminating in a serious question as to whether he even came out of the changing rooms for the second half.
that applies to the whole friggin' team. As soon as we scored they switched off.

I would answer that question but I have decided to go sideways in this thread just to be safe.
