I really hope this isn’t their send off.

Chairman, Daniel Levy, said: “We sought over a long period of time to engage Harry and his representatives in several forms of contract extension, both short and long term. Harry was clear, however, that he wanted a fresh challenge and would not be signing a new contract this summer. We have reluctantly, therefore, agreed to his transfer.

I don’t get why he needed to say this.

Such a poor Chaiman's statement. Shows his emotional intelligence or lack thereof. Also see Harry made no mention about Levy in his video and not at all surprised. This man is an absolute weasel of a bloke.

Because he's attempting to deflect away from the reality that Harry gave us countless opportunities tp build a team worthy of him....around him.

Levy failed big time and instead is trying to push the blame on to Kane's contract situation whereby he was totally in his rights to run it down because he didn't see the ambition being shown, or enough of it.

Levy is a fuckinc weasel. We need him out.

Imagine giving this extraordinary contribution and leaving in a dignified manner for Levy to come out with that.

Disgusting.

couldn’t of said it better myself, and now I hope those few hanger ons he has in our fan base will fuck him off too with that disgrace of a farewell message. Absolute scum bag!

Levy you absolute weasel. That is probably the single most shit thing you’ve ever said. If you’re gonna throw shit like that around, you’ve gotta be clear of all blame, and you, you little prick, are very fucking far from that. The World is watching and waiting for this announcement, and you come out with that? You have failed in your job, countless times, and yet you still sit at the head of the table. Get out, and fuck off.

West Ham made similar comments about Rice when he left

I've always got something to say about Levy , but what he has said has actually left me speechless.

Despite thinking it was the right thing to sell, I think the message including talk about his contract forcing the decision isn't needed.

Should have just thanked him and wished him well.
He knows the fans blame him, and it was a poor attempt to deflect the blame onto Harry.
It wasn’t even subtle, it was completely classless.

Irks me that Kane doesn’t refer to the club as we and us.

Petty i know but Moura was crying his eyes out at leaving us.

your man spent 20 years here and was pretty much smiling in his goodbye message to the fans.

definitely a career man rather than a club one.

it is what it is.

The bloke just comes across so small minded. Honestly, now just feel embarrassed having that **** associated with the club. Desperately want him gone although feels we are forever stuck with the ****.

I love Harry as much as any Spurs supporter. The man has been Phenomenal for us. I do wish him the very best at Bayern. I hope he gets those trophies his talent deserves. With only 12 months remaining on his contract he's gone for a very good fee. He could easily have sat tight and done a Judas on us but he didn't. I've no hard feelings towards Harry. Good luck at Bayern Harry and thanks for the memories.

Genuinely a bit sad. There’s an admission of defeat about the whole thing that is just not the Spurs Dream for me, not the one Ossie had and Chaz and Dave sang so terribly about… there was always the dream that Spurs were ‘gonna do it again’ in those days of my youth. This feels like the talisman saying, nope, they ain’t.

The chairman’s farewell has pissed me off more though, because it’s mealy mouthed. To go back to the same era of music, it’s ‘vanity, insecurity…you know it baby…’

But we are here for the long haul. People like us… we need to look to the future…

okay, I’m going to escape the 80s now ;)

Fare thee well H, I hope you get what you crave.

Not sure I agree. Can see it hurt him. but he’s probably just fed up of the constant toxicity of the club for years, the constant failures of the board.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s obvious that the club would mention trying to keep Harry and him wanting a new challenge in the leaving message? I mean we can’t be seen to be letting our record goalscorer (and one of our greatest ever players) walk away without a fight?

I acknowledge Levy’s absolute failure on the football side in recent years (he failed the whole club not just Kane btw), but I don’t think this message is something to attack him over.

I think he’d be getting pelters if he didn’t mention trying to keep him and treated this as a normal sale.

Fuck me, what was he supposed to do, audition for a Kleenex advert? ;)

This morning I've seen people say you could tell he was emotional and others that he showed none. It's micro analysis and body language interpretation at it's finest :D
