Yeah Bale was just reaching his peak when he left. Kane was in his peak whilst he was here.
Will be interesting to see how he adapts in a team that haven’t been set up primarily to play to his strengths
It's funny how we see a lot of the Bale/Kane comparisons, yet we had a magician in Modric who barely gets a mention despite him going on to have arguably bigger success sealed with a Ballon d'Or.

And Lucas even. He just seemed so proud to play for us. And grateful we were giving him those experiences. Kane seemed more along the Conte approach of doing us a favour.
I was just about to come back in and mention Lucas as another one that just properly loved the club.
Watching his leaving message was emotional but I've not got that feeling at all from Kane going.
And I can't imagine Kane getting teary about leaving like Lucas did, he just seems a bit robotic

Sure, apart from that famous night, Lucas wasn't close to one of our greatest players but he was one of us.

is there a way to mute a thread.. agree looking in here is just torturing ourselves now time to forget he exists apart from england duties until he retires. Shouldn't be hard with him playing in the bundesliga.....(no one cares about it Harry nobody that isn't german.) and with us not in europe.
Argentinian could easily be our most represented nationality on occasions this season so maybe i'll transfer my allegiance to avoid HK even more.

I know I shouldn't indulge this part of myself, but I think the most annoying part (aside from Kane leaving) is that there are no new target threads or even super active ones over the past 12 hours. It just feels like we got punched in the face and we are staying down on the ground. I am sure it will change next week one way or the other, but what a way to usher in a new managerial era and the first game of a season.

As the kids say, the vibes are really bad around this one.

Watching Ange's press conference I got the impression the club thinks it's done it's business with Maddison, Van Der Ven and Vicario.

Wouldn't be surprised if that narrative comes out soon

I wouldn't even say Spurs of the last few years have been set up as a team to play to Kane's strengths. Since Eriksen left, Kane basically had to become the no.10 and no.9 in the same team because no one else was capable.

I think Bayern will be more set up for him than Mourinho/Conte-era Spurs.

When the dust has settled and all is finalized, I have to say as a Spurs supporter I will remember Harry with fond Memories. But I wouldn't choose any other Manager to be at the wheel than the man we have now for life after Kane. Lets give him the time he deserves and see how it goes.

Immediately after the Kane gone announcement, Spurs need to roll out that video they used to show pre-game (still do?) across all social media channels - "This is the club of Blanchflower, McKay, Greaves, King etc etc", (with HK edited out). Great reminder that the club is bigger than anyone, and that we have always had great players and we always evolve on to the next batch.

If he goes I think he's made a poor choice, not even as a Spurs fan. He could've made himself insanely rich if he'd stuck around for just one more year. Could've started off next summer by being a record holder, pocketing tens of millions without a transfer fee, have his pick of any top club, push for a higher wage and walked away a legend.

His call.

edit: Y'know, I don't care, but I don't think I've ever gotten a Disagree and an explanation... just click and gone....

Perryman/Mabbutt - The only truely one of our own
Greaves - Greatest pure Goalscorer possibly ever
Blanchflower - founder member of greatness
Dave Mackay - just because....
Gazza - nearest to Genius since Hoddle
Hoddle - Pure Genius

My be unpopular but I'd take any of these against Kane and always would have
Jennings - best goalkeeper I have ever seen
Ledders - the King
John White - nearest to genius before Hoddle
Cliff Jones - best Welsh winger to play for us
but yeh, Hoddle, that season in the second division, he was only 19 and he carried us back into the first division and we only just made it in third place on goal difference from Brighton I think it was. We had the best goal difference in the division, we scored a lot of goals and we let in a lot too, some things never change. No Jennings of course. But without Hoddle we wouldn’t have got back up. Dread to think what would have happened then.

Kane just didn't really get that emotional connection going for me.
Yes, he was great and I thoroughly enjoyed him being here, watching him grow and progress but I just didn't get the feels with him.

Hard to explain why but then, emotions are always hard to understand.

There are some players that you just instantly connect with, even if they're not at the club for a long time, like VdV, Ginola, Daws and even the likes of Freund.
It's like they get the club and feel what the fans feel but I've never really got that with Kane.
I agree, Son leaving would hurt me much more than Kane does.
