But they succession plan for this every year, making a massive profit on the ones they sell. And also knew exactly what they wanted in their next manager when potter left so didnt skip a beat in the change. Compare that to us for a moment.

Selling your best players doesn't make you a poorly run club.
Yes ok, can you say the same hand on heart if we did it every year, good luck with that

Wouldn't suprise me at all to see very little incomings in the next week. Levy will wait to pick up the bargain basements agents desperately throw at us at the transfer window gets closer.

Where’s all the Fati talk coming from? We don’t even have a thread for him.

I'm sure we'll spend money, but we'll spend stupid money on someone like connor gallagher, lenglet and orban.

People kidding themselves we're going to go out and buy some stars.
Id rather we spend money on the players Ange actually wants rather than spunk it on a big signing he might not be that fussed on.

The only star I wanted was a winger and I use the term star loosely because I don't expect Mitoma or Salah. A young exciting winger who can play both sides with electric pace is the sort of profile I'd want.

You’re talking like we didn’t just sign a Fulham reserve winger on a free :cautious:

The thing that saddens me is Levy won't even try to reinvest and try to appease the fans. He doesn't care as he knows we will still buy merchandise and go to matches.
He also have music concerts, american football? Rugby etc.

He has reinvested every other time we have sold our best player though so I don’t know how you’ve reached this conclusion - remember ‘the Beatles’? 😂

Not saying we won't bring players in. But the idea that we're going to be able to properly replace Kane is laughable.

I know lots in here just giddy for transfers, but come on.

You can never properly replace players like Kane.

We didn't replace Keane, Berbatov, Modric, Bale ect with exact replacements. You get the best fit in for how the team will now play.

Last minute hold up because Levy is trying to get Bayern to give us their young teenage striker Fräser Kampbell on loan?

Imagine being Skechers. You've decided to enter the football boot market. You sign one of the biggest stars in the most commercially successful league. Then before the deal has even been announced he decides to go and play in a league that no one outside of Germany watches.

All I'm hoping for is for Levy to reinvest the Kane money in quality that Ange really wants and not necessarily be what the fans want.

Ange seems quite vocal on who he will and won't have, but also not just demanding world class players. So I am hoping We do, but that's more on Ange than Levy.

We’re not run by petrol states, and Bale and Modric were a decade ago. We’ve spent loads in recent years. We’ve just spent it badly.

This…….and apart from the rare gem every now and then I have zero confidence in that changing.

The problem we've had is that since the tail end of Pochettino's time, we've not had managers we can trust. Either they don't want to be here or they are showing no signs of significant progress. Even though you can, it does make it harder to make big/effective signings when there's so much uncertainty.

We often invest a lot of money but it takes the right coach to come in and take advantage of it. Redknapp took on a team of expensive flops. So did Sherwood and Pochettino. And now Eriksen, Modric, Dembele, Bale etc. look like great buys. They didn't at first.

we invested a lot in Conte and we didn't really get much from it. But Bissouma, Perisic, Richarliason and Porro are still here and can still look like smart buys.

Since the final we’ve spent the fifth most out of any club in the world. Net spend, only United and Arsenal above us. People can either say we’ll waste the money or we’ll not spend it, but they can’t say both.
Not having a go but would be curious how we stack up with wages taken into account.
