Has to be Orban and that lad from Benfica now. Properly pad out the squad with a couple of (potentially) quality players. Get another midfielder with the PEH/deadwood money if they all go.

Moving on from Kane (I’m good at that according to Mr ex’s).
The talk of buying 3 players with the money, is why we never move up.
I know we need another cb and probably a few more, but a big club doesn’t sell a world class player and then replace them with 3 potentially good players, they would take that 100m and buy the very best replacement they could. 3 good players is not equal to 1 world class player.
Who do you suggest?

Levy doesn't actively want us to fail and under him we've built teams that have finished top 4.

I think he took us as far as we could go and we'd be better off with someone who both doesn't abuse human rights and is also willing to aggressively spend, don't get me wrong. But we sold Berbatov and Keane and built a top 4 team. We sold Bale and Modric and built a top 4 team. Levy wants CL to keep up that "brochure image" and he's clearly not incapable of making that happen.

With that said I'm sick to death of chasing top 4, as I feel it's all we've done for nearly 20 years. I don't give a shit about getting in the CL again if it's going to be what it was last season or like a QF exit. Past caring about it.
You make some great points about building Top 4 teams after the exit of a top player but this feels different to me. Not just because of Kane but because we have little to no hope of competing with the so called financially doped teams.

We have dropped back to mid table and teams such as Villa, Brighton and Brentford have caught up to us and are challenging us.

In all honesty, I’m just sick of the constant lack of ambition and the excuse factory of a club we’ve become.

That said, at least we will be able to test the theory that “all our fans want is good football” which was repeatedly stated by a host of posters on here.

We shall spend the period ahead of next season working relentlessly to position our Club for on-pitch success and football you will love to come and watch. Every element of the Club’s operations is geared toward delivering that.

- Daniel Levy

Thanks Dan great job so far!
Genuinely asking, did anybody actually believe that at the time?

I mean anybody over the age of 7

Yup. Minimal, half-hearted investment from a position of strength and complacency that Poch could work miracles on a shoestring until the end of time...that's the root cause of this.

Then since Poch left it's been trying to mask the limited nature of the squad with blockbuster managers without acknowledging the real heart of the problem - lack of investment and a blinkered vision.

Levy did well to pin down Kane to a 6 year deal but the chaotic 4 years after that (and the lack of signings preceding it) are the real reason we're in this mess.

We're heading in a much better direction now but we pissed away what was a fantastic position 5-6 years ago.
And what’s worse is that we had itk that he is leaning towards staying and levy had to twist his arm and give him an ultimatum and force him to sign a deal, rather than have at least 6 more months of Kane

levy would rather sell him now for money than to allow Kane to stay and observe if (1) levy backs ange with signings and (2) our football n results improve

till the end, levy didn’t dare gamble, he still looked at certainties and kane as an asset

this is why it hurts for me…

The thing Levy doesn’t understand is that it’s no good building a team to get top 4 because our rivals are building teams to win the league. Top 4 is their fall back position. Because we aim too low we are destined to fail more times than we succeed m.
Totally agree! Remember this…?

“It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory.”

We have failed to follow the great man’s words for many years now.

Ali G's tweet about Levy's not showing ambitions is only true to some extent. Yes, we have a generation talent. But how about showing up in the finals and semi finals in that few we appeared in and made it count instead.

It feels like rewriting history will be of much in the coming few days as the reality sets in, come on. We were the Harry Kane team for some periods yes, but some of you, especially in Levy's thread, sound like Kane has been doing us all a favour this whole time and all blame fell squarely on one man, the baldy. He has his faults no doubt and I still want him gone. But for Kane, after the Citeh saga 2 years ago, he just seems to be patronising us all along.

I'm glad he will be gone during this time big Ange is our gaffer. He will no doubt be drilling into the lads who bought into him the nothingness of Kane's departure and how they will be emerging stronger.

It's the whole time line of being so close to the season opener that irks me greatly. And TBH, Kane's indecisiveness is a huge bugging factor. For someone who keeps insisting the club showed some ambition, the time has come for him to make the same call, he's no better and delayed and cost us some time.

Haha, indeed, he should have squared it to Sterling! 😂 On a serious note, I'm relieved this is finally coming to an end. It's a rather emotional moment though .

The goblin better not sit on the cash he’s got the match under his feet now
That's my fear think we are all going to end up very disappointed when Levy does.
