If it really was Kane and The club sorting out a few last bits, then why has nearly every media outlet said he’s hesitating. Where’s that narrative coke from? Surely someone has put that out there - but there’s no purpose to it.
German media lining up a whole host of reasons / excuses to use if the deal ultimately doesn’t get completed. Couldn’t possibly be that he has changed his mind so must be mysterious late bid by other club or Levy making final unreasonable demands on the financial side

I was thinking that, if your paying around the £100M mark, and you get the slightest feeling they wont be 100% comitted to you, surely you would pull the plug straight away
Not so easy, they are all in and know they can't find a better fit to replace Lewandowski. They need to give it everything they've got as they know it is now or never for Kane to join them as they would be way down the pecking order in we months if he were on a free

Must be to do with loyalty payments surely. Depends on the contract but they could be spread over the years of the contract or could be dependant on seeing out the contract, or a combination. Either way you'd expect it to be ironed out pretty quick and then...

No he doesn't.
What usually happens is a gazumping as we all know ala Willian to Chelsea and Sissoko to us. Have a feeling this will get even more interesting. If Kane needs a narrative to justify turning down Bayern having previously indicated willingness to join, all that needs to happen is for one or two of the big English clubs to come in and his people can then say the picture is completely changed with the PL goal record in sight etc... even if Levy doesn't accept an English bid, Kane can use that as the reason to see out his contract and then decide what he wants to do at the end of the season. He holds the ace card
If he turns down Munich and an English club come in with a similar bid I can’t see Levy turning it down. There’s no way the business is going to let a £100m asset run down. Levy will use the excuse he was forced into it…

This thread feels like it's been on narrative coke for a while now.

Why are people turning on Harry now? Have I missed something?
Admittedly I've been one of the worst. I'm not turning on Kane per se, and I get why he wants to leave, but he made this bed, so he should lie it in quickly.
The time for contemplation etc is gone. He has to go quickly so we can move.
This will he, won't he narrative is tiresome and disruptive.

Can't see it. Levy would want much more money from a PL club and there would be another week or two of negotiations which Harry clearly doesn't want. Plus there really aren't any obvious PL clubs this window that would pay 120m when they could wait a year and get him on a free.

If he's going to a club other than Bayern I very very much doubt it will happen this window.

From Bild (Christian Falk)

Bayern still believes in the change!

From: CHRISTIAN FALK 08/10/2023 - 8:36 p.m

The transfer poker around Harry Kane (30) keeps the fans in suspense.
It was first announced on Thursday that Kane-Klub Tottenham had accepted Bayern Munich's offer of a fixed fee of 100 million euros plus 20 million bonus payments.

All that was missing was the commitment from Kane, who had reportedly long since decided on Bayern. But then the doubts began...

What's the problem?

According to BILD information, there is still a financial problem to be clarified. It should also go to consultant fees.

Harry Kane is managed by his brother Charlie and father Pat.

That's why Bayern has now sought talks with Tottenham and the Kane family again. Talks are currently underway between all three parties so that the change can still take place this weekend.

The Kane family is said to have put pressure on Tottenham that Harry would leave the club free of charge in 2024 if there was no agreement.

However, Bayern would much prefer the striker to opt for Munich.

Sounds like Charlie & Dad getting in the way?

The way Bild loving calling this whole thing a "poker game" I can't help but think of the ole dogs playing poker with these two involved...

Surely that kind of thing couldn't be the stumbling block could it?

Why then all the talk of Kane leaning towards staying after the offer came in?

Feel like those types of things would be a formality not a huge issue

These things aren’t stumbling blocks because they’re legally binding, printed in black and white.
It smells of bullshit to me.
Probably just journos desperate to tweet something...anything.

IMO much more likely Kane is having doubts about the move to BM now, whether that’s due to another offer coming in or something else is anyone’s guess.
