net spend you say? Ha. Convenient to start framing the very year after we spent absolutely fck all.

Pointing to the numbers from 2019 only serves to highlight how badly the money has been spent, and how little has been recouped from sales. Focus on perceived deal value, not need- and an incoherent strategy overall.

Last summer ultimately cost us Conte and the need to start over with a squad ill-matched to the new manager's MO.

A weak finish to this summer, Kane going, and a couple of unproven signings with the money, could well cost us Ange.

This Club is trapped in Levy's doom loop
Levys doom loop 🤣. That's a new one.

It's amazing how you've spun it into the numbers being skewed by numbers in 2019, which again is factually untrue:

23/24: £-107.12m
22/23: £-118.93m (8th)
21/22: £-52.38m (4th)
20/21: £-83.08m (7th)
19/20: £-73.5m (6th)

We'll probably end up getting an extra £5-£10m and Levy will see that as a win for him.

But this state of limbo and uncertainty doesn't suit anyone.
I wonder if this time it's less squeezing every penny and more just waiting the window out.

Sounds like Bayern are just as stubborn as Levy... no surprise if you know about their history and arrogance towards other clubs 😏

This evening feels like it will be the biggest meltdown for spurs fans in media/online media since I can remember (even more so than Bale)
If thats going to be the case, I think I'll give this place and all phone ins a massive swerve for a few weeks.

The outcome is never as polarised as people think, either all sunshine and light or doom and gloom.

The reality is somewhere in the middle. A period of adjusting to the new managers systems with new players, and then we'll see.

We sold Bale and several years later finished 2nd and 3rd in the league and got to a CL final.

No one believed that would be remotely possible without Bale.

Spurs will endure and there will be glory moments to come again.

Did it? I thought it was him being a miserable prick. I cannot think of a manager who had more goodwill and support from day one that seemed so hellbent on squandering it.
it's all onions in the end but most of us screamed only hire him if you're going to give him what he thinks he needs. He asked for a top class LCB didn't he, but didn't get one. Oddly he got a progressive RWB no that long before losing his sh*t.

Anyway, my key point remains- a prayer for Levy to give Ange the tools that give him a good run at his big opportunity

I think it’s a bit optimistic to think Bayern is going to get anywhere near Kane’s value to us. They are a side that historically doesn’t spend large money on one player and have used their influence in Germany to bully the transfer market for the best German based players. I think they are really believing that they can leverage the contract situation, getting Kane on board behind the scenes, and their world reputation to get us to agree to a lower fee. At this rate, would rather take the gamble of Harry leaving on a free domestically than continuing on with this saga up until the season starts.
