Whatever happens, I'll be glued to TV watching Spurs all this season and how ever many more seasons I have left.
How Kane is doing in Germany will be of little interest to me.
It looks like the manager is going to play some nice front foot football which I am excited about.
I am also looking forward to how we spend our money during the rest of this window.
I'm not interested in losing my shit though as we have no idea how good we'll be this season.
Oh and predicting the future is not reality.

With a lack of midweek matches for us there is always the Champions League stuff to watch, I probably will

Bring on all your hate - but I think we will score more goals, and finish higher than 8th this season - without Kane.

Football is a team sport. I think we have become too reliant on just a few players. Without Kane to rely on - I think we will see several players step up into bigger roles this season.

We may not have a 30-goal scorer in the squad - but we will have more players involved in the build-up and in the goals.
I'm actually looking forward to going on the 19th. Probably for the first time in around 8-9 months

Out of all the players that have left to go to "bigger clubs", Kane deserves more respect than any of them by far.

He's given everything for this club from the age of 11. And in that time, graced us with so many memories.

We can't be bitter about him leaving when we all know that our ownership are only willing to invest enough to remain in CL spots. Kane always said that if we matched his ambitions then he would remain at Spurs - we have failed to do this.

Wish him all the best over in Germany.
You are correct and I dont disagree, but when I hear this there is this little Demon on my shoulder saying that he has been WELL paid to play Football for Tottenham Hotspur.

That just shows me that other clubs are prepared to attempt to fix the issues.
Sure, not every signing will work out but if you don't sign anyone, it's definitely not going to fix the problem.

I don't expect every signing to be great but I wouldn't mind if the club actually tried signing some.
How many cb's have we signed to fix the hole that was originally pointed out by Jose?
Lenglet. On loan.

It's not even about how much they cost.
If we're just looking at CBs since the sale of Toby in 2021/22? We've signed Romero, Rodon and Lenglet. Tanganga was promoted and Davies has been (i'd say successfully) utilised as a LCB option.

This isn't me saying that we've done things in the right way - because I agree that we haven't. But that doesn't mean that we haven't done anything. The problem we have and that we always seem to have is we struggle to sell our players that are no longer required by the existing management and that bloats the squad and makes our money men hesitant to bring in new expensive players, and as a result I think we bring in the cheaper option because financially its less of a risk.

If we cleared the decks of our squad "filler" and got all those excess salaries of the finances I think Levy would be far less hesitant to bring in a Tapsoba or a Bastoni. Right now, every player you are signing carries a risk that it won't work but also guarantees that the options you already have will lose value too - because they won't be used.

Anyway, not the thread for it as this is the Harry Kane thread but I think its also relevant as to why it's been so hard to bring in a back up striker. You spend £50m on a player that will sit behind Kane and barely start and in a year or two he's only worth £20m and wants to leave through lack of game time.

Look, if he wants to go then i wish him well. It will hurt as he is a generational talent, the likes of which we may not see for a while (but then so was Bale and there wasn't much time between the two of them so who knows). What i would like is for BOTH the club and Kane to want him to be at the Lane on Sunday and have him walk the crowd. I think the fans deserve to see off their greatest ever goal scorer and i would like to think that he would like the chance to say good bye and listen to one last rendition of "one of our own". Then we can put it to bed, move on to the new season and chose to look out for results in Germany if we wish (or not). I have said for 3 or 4 years that i see him playing at Bayern, its a couple of years earlier than i expected but it will be a good fit for him and part of me feels that he will be back at Spurs in 3 or 4 years ala Teddy's stint at Utd and will finish the job of getting Shearers record. Onwards and upwards, no need to feel any negativity towards the player or the club. Though i will sob a little....

Always a tough one to take seriously the idea that we've abused his loyalty and let him down, when as a Tottenham player he's probably earned north of £150m during contracts that he's signed to play for this club.

Harder to shut down a whole team than it is to key on one guy.

It's in everyone's interests for it to be done. We need 2 centre backs in for Shakhtar and a forward on the plane to Barcelona. No more excuses.
Regardless when this gets done, no way we get more than 1 CB in before the last week of the window. We will drag the deals out to try get better deals as always.

A reliable source at Tottenham Hotspur has informed media that Harry Kane has been so dedicated to training with Spurs that he's getting to the ground a couple of hours before everyone else to put his towel down. Make of that what you will…

That’s the nature of football and he could have earned a lot more elsewhere.

Milk Bayern for everything they're worth, get him gone and let's move on. He'll be back in a couple of years anyway.
