Ask yourself, if Kane is leaving......why would any decent CF come here?
We dont (and never have) pay the wages....
We dont win anything
We're not in Europe
And who in their right mind would come just to sit on the bench behind Brazil’s #9…

I love how everyone just pretends that there wasn't already a face to face meeting in London between Bayern officials and Levy, and that it didn't even lead to a bid, let alone signalled the finalising of the deal, but this meeting definitely can only mean one thing despite all the rumours saying their bid is still gonna be way too low for us.
you'd do better to read the ITK and insights of those with experience of how Germans do business, before you patronise the way others are responding

I hear you on this but Ange is renowned for making a lot of subs as his system is so taxing with the high press paramount. For this reason I expect many of our attacking subs to get plenty of minutes off the bench. C.30 mins at least. Throw in injuries and a bit of rotation and I think a young player who backs themselves would likely find the prospect of London and Spurs appealing

We're in the PL, though, which is where most players want to be and there are only about 8 or 9 clubs richer that us that players can feasibly land at (excusing the Saudis at least). We offer bigger wages than 95% of clubs on the continent and have a few things going for us like London, the stadium, etc.

I agree we probably won't attract the very best but we managed to get Maddison in our current state and got Romero when Nuno was in charge and we only had Conf league. We're still in a position to sign v.decent players. Just need Levy to pay the fahkin money.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I can accept Kane going, and I am fine with Richarlison being the main focal point, but I don't think i am comfortable with him being the only player we have that plays that role, Son you could argue maybe, but that's my main concern, we find ourselves in a mess where we don't have the required depth.

If it's strung out the whole week and he plays on Sunday then a deal won't be close IMO - there's no way Bayern will allow the risk.

If he doesnt play then it's pretty nailed on he's gone
he could come on for the last couple of mins and stay out of harms way, but that would likely also trigger some more Levy out stuff- so I'd agree one way or another I doubt he'll be there

This is what I dont get. ‘Most players’ want to be in the premier league or at Real/Barca…why is Kane going to Bayern

Richarlison could do well but he's not world class like Kane. Every forward was a backup because Kane is never getting dropped. If he leaves then we no longer need a backup. We should actually have genuine competition so when one is off form the other starts. I doubt with all due respect forwards are feeling they will never play because of Richarlison the same way as it was with Kane. No disrespect to him of course he's just not world class and still has to prove himself at this level.

Naturally I’ll be somewhat sad to see H go - he’s given an huge amount to Tottenham over the years. One of the saving graces is that he’s going abroad; makes it’s more palatable.
I do feel that if Poch does well Harry may return at some stage to try for the PL record. Although, some folk I know that have moved to Germany suggest they’d never return to the UK.
All in all, thanks Harry for being a model professional and supplying us with some sublime football…. Wish you the best for you & the family …

Yeah I don't really understand why he's going there, it's a strange one.

Not somewhere I'd go if I was in my peak anyway.

I’m not that bothered tbh. Nothing against him but don’t wish him well either. Go Dortmund.
Can’t understand this take for two reasons:

1. Kane has always said that he would be happy to stay here, as long as he felt the team were competitive. As others have said, it’s Levy’s fault that it’s come to this, not Kane’s.

2. The transfer will 100% be made up of add-ons based off of Bayern winning trophies, so would be a big financial knock to us if he was to win nothing.

Only thing that concerns me is that we seem to be in a position where we HAVE to sell Kane to sign 2 CB’s that we should’ve been signing regardless of whether he leaves or not.

How can a club of our size and stature still be in a financial state where we need to sell a player for £80+ million just to sign players of the same value? Keeping in mind that Villa are signing players without any major sales.

This week will be interesting, I’m sure we will have more clarity by the end of it.

We need 2 CBs, Tapsoba and Van De Ven combined won't liquidate us and both should be done regardless of Harry. The situation that you have pointed out is the biggest issue at our club.

Literally everyone in football or watching will tell you that we only have one CB that's remotely close to capable. That's on the club and the club need to spend to make amends for this error. A club with real ambition would have by now and this is the reason Harry will leave.

We do pay the wages no though? Ndombele is on 200k pw, Son, Lloris and Maddison are on similar. Kane is on 200k pw before bonuses.

It's looking like Richy is likely to fill the striking role in Ange's system anyway so we're not going to need a megabucks striker.

BS

Son, LLoris and Kane and worked their way up to the top of the Pile.
Ndombele is a bum and isn;t on that money, which has been confirmed before.
its well known we DONT pay top dollar.
Hence why we've all been on here for 15\20 years crying about players choosing other clubs.....even when they were NOT in europe.

Yeah meeting obviously happening today where I think it's likely they will strike a deal for Kane. As has been mentioned before, they like to finalise the deal in person so speaks volumes they're both flying across for the meeting today.

Richarlison has impressed Ange in pre season and he feels he can bag plenty of goals for him so I would say the likelihood is we bring both VdV & Tapsoba in followed by an exciting young talent who can play across the front three.
Thanks for the update as always mate and if this happens then happy days.

The question is just how quickly can it be done.

If we can sell Kane and bring in at least one of VDV or Tapsoba this week with the 2nd CB and young talent who can play across the front 3 coming in the following weeks then I think we will be in a really good place.

Lets see.

There has been a lot of negativity from people the last few days because of the Kane uncertainty and lack of CB signings, both understandable, usually I'd not defend Levy however I do think if Bayern wanted to do this meeting in person to finalise the deal then that obviously couldn't happen until Kane and the squad were back from the tour and selling Kane would significantly alter our transfer plans and budget so I can see why to an extent we are holding off some other business until the Kane saga is finalised.

That being said I think we should've had enough money in our budget to sign one top CB before now so I'd like to see that signing be made before the end of this week.

I don't think things are quite as bad as some people are making out but the next week or two will be key.

Arsenal, Newcastle and Man Utd played with inferior center-forwards, last season and finished above us.

We need to stop relying on one player, regardless of who he is.
