At this point if we can get 100m from Bayern and a resale clause to the PL for x years I'm thinking I'd take it.

PSG need to sell Mbappe for FFP reasons. Losing a huge asset for free and then having to replace him can cause problems in spending on other areas. I am not familiar with our FFP position but it could be a consideration.

100m for Bayern.

If Charlie Kane and United are using Bayern to soften spurs up, that value goes to 150m for United.

He’s 30 and in the last year of his contract. Unless you’re willing to lose him for nothing next season, you can’t negotiate like that.

So you would be happy for the club to bend and be used for him to get a move to a rival?

I wouldnt. PL tax should be added

You can't add a "PL tax" if you don't have multiple suitors that Kane is also willing to sign for. If United are the only domestic club in for him, and he only wants to go to a domestic club, then our options are limited to taking a fee from United or risk letting him leave for free next summer. That's it. And Joe Lewis has apparently already said he'll choose the former.

More rubbish and people buying it. First it’s absolutely laughable that Joe Lewis would take the decision out of Levy’s hands. None of this is being leaked by the club, that’s for sure.

The idea that United could buy Kane is equally laughable, it would take an astronomical fee (150m+) imo. Even then it would look terrible and we don’t need the money these days.

Keep Bayern and PSG coming and if we have to sell then 115 million pounds should do it imo.

If Kane is adamant he won’t sign a new contract then we take Bayern to the cleaners. They are desperate and PSG might be too, if we get a ridiculous offer from France we can ask Bayern to match it, simple.

Our negotiating position isn’t strong here. We either sell or he goes next year for nothing. I can’t see any reason Kane would sign an extension at this point (maybe next year if no one suitable comes in and we have a great season under Ange).

Levy is a great businessman. But the reason he is a great businessman is because he knows how to use any leverage he has to the maximum. He doesn’t just march in throwing numbers around and refuses to budge. I’m sure he’s acutely aware he doesn’t have a lot of leverage here.

Here is a nice little thought for those worried about his departure.

Under peak Poch, we didnt really have any stand out performers who were a cut above the rest.

One game Kane was the matchwinner.
Next Dele was.
Then Eriksen.
Then Dembele

etc etc.

I dont recall too many games where Kane was the clear best player on the pitch or the one who was driving the team single handedly.

That came once the Jose era had kicked in.

Kane was mostly about his goalscoring, his playmaking gradually came to the fore.

But the key point here is we had a front five - Kane, Dele, Son, Eriksen, Lamela (when fit) - who all shared the goals/creativity/effort and thats what made that team so good.

If one was missing, including Kane, then the others picked it up. In fact, there was a run of games we hardly missed him and when he returned we had some issues.

In recent years we have definitely altered his game so he became a playmaker and goalscorer. I think that has been a benefit and a hinderance at times.

Mark Kane out the game and dont let runners off him and you can stop Tottenham. Although, I do think Kane has elevated his game to overcome some of those barriers on his own, I wouldnt say it has elevated the team.

The question is, would today's Kane be a hinderance to Postecoglou's system?

I doubt very much Postecoglou wants his CF dropping so deep for the ball. Thats Maddison's role.

We saw Kane and Maddison stepping on each other's toes a bit against West Ham. Maybe they would adapt a bit but if Kane is adamant on coming to receive the ball then he will step on Maddison's toes.

Also, the player leading the line has to sprint press immediately not press intermittently.

Kane wont be able to quite simply play the way he has been playing, where he seemed to have a bit of a free role at times. Postecoglou doesnt want forward players dropping too far back.

I see what you're saying, I think a lot of it has been down to the tactical set ups. With Maddison coming in you'd hope the goals would flow more readily and be more spread out.

We’re definitely not short of money.

I refuse to believe that Arsenal who have spent £500m+ in 3 windows have more money than us.

It’s the ownership with different ambitions which is the deciding factor…
the BSODL would tell you that we can't do a Leeds 😂

If this ultimatum is accurate then I think it's the best thing to do in the interests of the club. If he's in (and we all hope he's in) he signs a new contract and helps us in the new Ange era. If he's out, the club gets the most we possibly can which we can then invest in the squad. We know that Levy would draw things out for a long as possible if given the chance but if Joe Lewis has instructed him to sell, we get clarity which means the squad and club can move on knowing what's going to happen and we have time to sign another striker.

It'll be sad day if it happens, but we just need a decision now.
