Club just needs to actually show some bollocks now really. Bayern have taken the piss, this appears to be United taking the piss, and it won’t be long before the likes of PSG, Chelsea etc. start taking the piss as well. Add this to a thus far poorly organised pre-season and lack of recruitment at the back, and it shows the club really aren’t setting Ange up for a good start. Kane either needs to be sold abroad or the media need a strong briefing that he’s going nowhere this summer at least. Can’t continue like this surely.

Why would the club issue a briefing that portrays the club ownership in a bad light?
Yeah the club would never do anything like that, like when after months of Nagelsmann rumours the club briefed the media that they don't intend to meet with him and that he's not a candidate at all. Because obviously one of the best young managers in world football that likes the club, talked up the job etc isn't going to be considered for the job, clearly he's terrible

Now I don't know what's going on here, but you're completely forgetting that it's run by people and people make bad decisions all the time, there isn't some omniscient farseer being consulted that always makes the right decisions

This could all be kabuki theatre if we’ve decided to sell and are close to agreeing a fee with Bayern/PSG.

First Ange says he wants it sorted quickly, then the press is briefed that Uncle Joe demands he be sold rather than allowed to go on a free. Both of these contribute to a perception that the decision was out of Levy’s hands and that he is not responsible for losing one of the top players in the club’s history.

And so the groundwork is laid for the deal to be announced without it coming as a surprise, and with Levy insulated somewhat from potential blowback.
This isn’t going to save Levy Flack.

Yeah definitely a untied leak or push.

Ain't no way a couple of journos from Manchester know what a guy on a boat in the Bahamas is thinking...

No idea what point you’re trying to make here and how it relates to my earlier post.

It’s also a rather silly thing to make-up out of nothing - since it would be rather easy to deny. Lies don’t tend to be that specific.

I just hope we have some internal clarity for Ange’s sake. He’s is getting the media backlash and us fans are completely in the dark. Needs to be a date & a price, end of.

The club spinning a narrative is one thing, the spin being effective is another entirely.

There’s clearly been a press briefing. Whether it came from the club, from Kane’s camp, or from a third party is unclear. But it isn’t difficult to imagine why Levy would want to create the perception that the decision was out of his hands.

I've heard absolutely nothing on the Kane situation but personal opinion is he leaves now. I don't see him signing a new contract and Ange does want it sorted ASAP! I'll say it again, this is not info, it's purely a gut feeling.

Take £100m, get our 2 senior CBs required, the young Phillips, focus on deadwood shifting at knockdown rates, Veiga in and Kolo Muani or the kid at Dortmund replacing Kane and see where our season takes us

Why not offer Kane a 1 year extension that adds a $50M buyout next season in return for upping his wages $200K per week for this season.

A $50M buyout is low enough to create a bidding war for him next season should he choose not to re-up with Spurs while still allowing Spurs to retain value.

Kane gets a 1 year raise (an extra $10M) and the opportunity to pick his landing spot.

Spurs get one more season with some financial protection and the opportunity to convince Kane that we have a path to trophies.

Does that not seem a plausible path?
