Well I would have thought we could manage this as we are one the richest clubs in the world or are we still having to sell to buy?
Its £70 million and throwing away £70 million is not managing anything.
I'd love him to stay and I'd like to believe we could convince him to stay this coming season but if I'm honest I think he made his decision two years ago.
Whether or not he had a gentleman's agreement with Levy he obviously believed he did and had he got his move to City he'd be sitting on two league titles a league cup an FA Cup and a Champions league medal and he'd have got the credit for it all, that's all sitting on his shoulder whether we like it or not.
Its time.

I'm not sure Kane knows how to down tools. Even when he's bad he's good.
Not talking about him downing tools. I’m suggesting that the potential to disrupt/damage his future through injury will be a very real, and undeniable concern, which I think will affect his performance irrespective of his attitude.

Can't really argue with any of that

No English club can until 1 month before his contract expires.
I'm sure Charlie will be inviting people round before then ...

Man United for Breakfast
Madrid for Elevenses
Chelsea for Lunch
Liverpool for Afternoon Tea
Barcelona for Dinner
And Al-Hilal for Midnight Snacks

Bits in bold are just guess work though.

He might like to see how we progress under Ange before he commits to a new contract.

Does he really want to go to Bayern or is it his management pushing it?

None of us really know lets be honest.

Last bolded bit, why wouldn't we have any money next summer even if we lost Kane on a free? We are the 3rd most money generating company in all of sports in all of the world FFS. Don't tell me we won't or shouldn't have a very good transfer budget every year.
With respect pretty much all of your reply is guesswork with lashings of hope. As for the last bit how often do we spend very much north of £70m? That's the level of funds people are talking about throwing away.
Christ almighty I'd love to be optimistic but in the end there is one constant truth, no player is bigger than the club.

I’m going to put my two bobs worth in and say he doesn’t leave the premiership until he’s broken shearers record. My feeling is he will start the season with us and see how it pans out, if it’s still crap then he signs on a free and stays in the premiership, if, and it’s a big if, things take a big turn for the better, which I really hope they do, then I can see him signing a new contract with us….I really don’t see any reason why he would sign for Bayern.

Getting money, and space, so they can offer us what we want? I think so

Thought he might stay this summer just because clubs won’t offer the money it would take. This is the first time I’m now feeling actually that may not be the case.

No, it’s not mismanagement.

We don’t know all the facts, for a start.

But we do know he has a year to go if he stays. And that the club has a year to try to come up with a deal to persuade him to sign a new deal.

Are those two things worth £70m or whatever the correct figure is? That’s a matter of judgement but it’s valid for the board to take the view that , like every transfer, it’s a risk worth taking.

To dare and all that! 😜
No we don't know all the facts but we can make a judgement call on how things stand and the way I see it on one hand we have certainty and on the other we have nothing but hope.

This Mane news is what I was worried of. Fee spoken around was 27m£ + addons. If its true, Bayern certainly will have what it takes to bring in Kane - if they are really intent on bringing him this summer

In that scenario, I expect a formal bid to come in after our Singapore preseason game (finishing the obligations for main sponsor AIA)

That Mane money may have been factored into their current valuation I guess but you're probably right and it may well make the difference.

I'm amazed how many are bored and fed up with this saga yet still in this thread regularly
It’s the optimism that there might actually be some pertinent information rather than the endless regurgitation of the 2 or 3 views about how Kane will or won’t stay.

Everyone seems pretty convinced that him going to Bayern ensures that he doesn't end up at a rival.

Like Eriksen to Inter?
You've just picked a very unique situation here, where Eriksen collapsed on the pitch and nearly died and then had heart surgery which meant he was ineligible to play in the Italian league and so his contract at Inter was canceled.

That’s football.

When we buy a player we have the certainty of the money going out and the hope that the player will improve the team.

And as you say, since we rarely if ever spend a net £70m, why are we so keen as supporters to lose the best player we have sooner then we need to, for money we may not benefit from, whether or not we spend it?

To my mind, the whole thing is guesswork and speculation based on incomplete information, and there isn’t an objectively right decision. Whatever the club does is a big gamble.

That Mane information might be pertinent.

Or the endless same complaints about the endless regurgitation of the same views 😉

KMJ got funded by Hernandez deal. Their other 2 acquisition Laimar & Guirrero are free transfer

They are bringing in Walker for not much fee. Pavard , Sabitzer , Mane , Gravenberch all could go on good sales. And City also looking at Kimmich which could be a big fee.
Mane is paid 20m€ a year as wages - that would cover Kane salary easily.

IMO , Bayern have the ammunition- now it’s about whether they can agree a 100m+ fee with Levy

If Kane leaves for free next season Bayern aint getting a look in. Kanes contracted to Spurs for another year so if Bayern want him they have to pay the fee required now no point accepting £30-50m less than his cost because he is gonna leave for free next year! He could literally be the difference between Champions League and no Champions League next season which would be worth way more than the €70m Bayern or offering.

I want Bayern to pay up and to get this done with now so we can move on with the next chapter at Spurs bit like Bayern put it I don't want to give in to them

I don’t mind selling Kane at all if he isn’t going to extend deal. But what worries me is we won’t reinvest his sale into 1 known big player…and rather spend on unknown average strikers
