If his remit in leaving is to get trophies, Man Utd are not a sure thing in anyway shape or form. They are not better than Arsenal, City or probably Newcastle now or after the summer transfer window.
Its not about trophies for god's sake, its about the bunce, it always is.

My guess is he disillusioned after Poch ‘s time went sour then Jose and Conte didn’t work out.

I’m not convinced pure trophies is the issue.

I’d be encouraged by that Sky Sports interview. He doesn’t sound to me like a man determined to force an exit this summer: quite the opposite.

Could be the last few games we are going to see him in our shirts

This is really sad

Only one small person to blame for all this

Yeah there might be a number that becomes too high for him to turn down.

I’m just not convinced it’s purely about money.
I agree - given his age and the narrative around him never winning trophies, I genuinely think Harry's main priority will be going to where he has the best chance of silverware while still gnawing away at Shearer's record. He obviously cares about money but he hardly seems like the most materialistic bloke in the world, whereas he's absolutely obsessed with his legacy and breaking records, etc.

I also don't think United would offer him that much more than we would. Ronaldo was on 450k and he's a fucking institution. Kane would probably be on something similar to Casemiro, around 350k, and I think we might go up to around 250-300k to try and persuade him to stay.

They're not a sure thing, yet they won the league cup (something many Spurs fans write off) and are in the FA Cup final. Yeah I'd say they're currently more settled and closer than we are.

I don't think he's leaving, but to say United aren't a sure thing is dismissive. They may well end up with 2 tophies whilst Arsenal end up with nothing, likewise Newcastle. Nobody knows how a season may go, City dominating aside. Who saw Chelsea and Liverpool be as far off this season as they are? Who saw Arsenal being top for as long as they have been? Who really honestly saw Newcastle do as well as they have whilst still having the bulk of the squad they do (the Almirons, Burns, Joelintons etc.)?

Take your point, but its not dismissive for *me*. You rate them more than I do.

I think Utd are most likely to put up the money. They’ve paid big on several occasions knowing there’s no sell on value.

Kane wouldn’t be leaving for a local or direct rival so his reputation with Spurs would be kept intact as much as it can be.

The question is if they do put up the money or wait to see if they can get him on a free the following year.
I can’t see Utd waiting a year. They brought in Weghorst as a short-term stop gap. They will go big for a striker this summer, be it Kane it a younger alternative (Oshiman).

He's not getting 750k a week anywhere
Of course he can. City pay Haaland £1m a week. With no transfer fee they can easily bung that kind of money at one of the most prolific and complete footballers to have played the game. Pocket money to them.

He'll be here 1 more season then off to the Etihad for a bumper pay day.

He's going nowhere this summer.

We get 100 million if we're lucky i think the club look at that and think if they keep him they have a much better chance of qualifying for the Champions league which is worth almost that.

I still think if we get a good manager in and he can sell Harry on his ideas we can get him to sign a new deal.
What youve just said is a repeat of the cycle ever year. Not only should we keep Kane and get a great manager, we need to spend 100-150m on defence and a new brilliant CDM and an great attacking midfielder. Without those additions he might aswell just go.

Doesn't sound like a player desperate to leave to me. Plus Mr Tottenham saying pretty much what we have done will go a long way to reaching Levy in a way we can't.

This for me. I’m sure he wants trophies, no doubt, at Tottenham his preference. Let’s not forget with a year left he holds the cards, all options open to him.

At the same time, by consequence he’s like our man on the inside to drive change. So high profile, his status causes Levy a problem, he’s that good, we love him, he’s Tottenham and the pending flack Levy would get is Harry’s and our trump card - secure himself a deal like no other and at the same time influence the change required at the club. I suspect Harry knows that too, and will leverage all he can out of the situation to help himself and change things at the club.
