I think he’s done for this World Cup. Usually when he has an ankle scan it’s never good news, and we know his history.

Nah. I think it's most likely precautionary. He played on afterwards and didn't seem to majorly affect him. We will find out.

I hope it is nothing serious for his sake - lets be honest, the world cup is a huge thing and whilst im not really precious about players, I would like Kane to win as captain of his country.

Of course from a spurs perspective, I still hope it is nothing serious but would love him to rest up for a few weeks. Then again Kane always takes a while to get up to speed eg start of a season or when he comes back from injury. Bets scenario is rest him for the next two games, then play him in r16.

It won’t be serious. There’s no way he could’ve carried on for best part of 20 mins if there were real ligament damage.
Now he may have weakened some ligaments which could be a concern if he takes another bad one and rolls it again.
Hopefully we’ll repeat Monday & he can be subbed and protected.

England has enough firepower to beat the USA without Kane. Rest him, and then play him for Wales. If we beat the USA, then it might be worth resting Kane for Wales as well.

Still think it's better to be safe than sorry here. As an American, I would hate to see a half-strength Kane get embarrassed by world class defensive talents like Walker Zimmerman, and, um... Sergino Dest, and... okay, look, please just don't play him on Friday, okay?

I would be gutted for him. I don't why our fans are so selfish when it's clear our players want to perform at the world cup. It's the same for Romero, I hope they can perform and remain healthy.
I know some of the calls for a three week rest are in jest, but I think it's seriously short-sighted to wish any of our players have their world cup end early to get extra rest. If a half-fit Romero or Kane (or any other player) underperforms and their team crashes out early, the mental toll of that is going to be much worse than the physical benefit they'll get from 2 or 3 weeks of rest. There's plenty wrong with this World Cup, but it's still an incredibly important stage for these players. "Happy and satisfied with performance but tired and banged-up" is a better condition for our second half of the season than "depressed and angry but well-rested."

I'd love him to play the ball earlier and avoid inviting tackles instead of looking to draw fouls or little nutmegs. It seems like every time he gets injured it's from holding the ball when there's a pass on.

I get what you’re saying but it’s also part of his game to gain a yard against players he isn’t quicker than, his timing and intelligence with nicking ball past or away from players is great. I remember Wilshere used to get a lot of injuries for the exact same reason, he would time his touch to beat players very well but it would result in him being fouled by players fully committed because they believe they have a great chance of winning the ball then whoosh it’s gone and they’ve taken him down. Just part of Kane’s game unfortunately and he wouldn’t be nearly as effective at holding the ball up without it

I don’t disagree, but there’s a thing called ‘World Cup Hangover’ too, which seems to affect players that have done well/gone long in the tournament……going back to ‘work’ with your club doesn’t seem to motivate you quite the same for 6 months.

We’re probably screwed either way…..?

Read the article I guess my post didn’t age well, but anyway we really should be looking to sign Pickford. Such a class keeper and we are a massive step up from Everton.
