I hate to be that dickhead about the pen but you can't really include that; well you can but it's incredibly harsh given how much of a run he was on with them it was just a matter of time on that. Just my own opinion; I agree with you on most things there to some degree just that bit.

Without Kulu back he's playing IMHO, I would say he probably doesn't need to give him a match or two off, the team just needs to bury its chances and kill some games off by 65-70min mark and give him 20 mins off here and there.
For me in instances like that is where we need to manage him better.
Hopefully we get a decent draw in the FA cup or something like that.

What would've done him the power of good is Southgate not being a total cockwomble!

Im not blaming him at all - chances can be missed, penalties can be saved, it was a pen that was well saved. What I was trying to illustrate I guess is that he has had the chances to get two or three more if he was fully firing and would be nearer to Haaland in a side that isnt Man City. I guess a Kane who isnt playing up to his usual standard still an 8 in 9 tally so far is damn great.

Amazing that on paper this is some of the best goal scoring form of his career

Normalised by our familiarity with him, Haaland scoring at 2x rate and his all round game dropping off

Still impressive though

comments In this thread make it sound like he is on some barren goal drought

Indeed, as long as he keeps scoring and we keep winning he stays in.

How far off is he now?

Eleven to break Jimmy’s record after yesterday ..

He could be feasibly rested on Wednesday. Same 352 shape with Richarlison and Son starting. Kane on the bench. Surely he can’t wait for Forest in the cup for a rest.

Agree but don't think he will be.

Probably the most important game of the group in terms of timing.

It's must win.

Especially having taken a whack to the ankle. If there’s some weakness in the ligaments, he won’t be risked Wednesday

That interview straight after the game was difficult to watch and so admirable from Kane. The way he was so obviously choked up and managed to compose himself was very well done.

Leukaemia is a horrible disease, it’s what my dad sadly passed away from last year. I feel for all that knew Gian Piero. RIP.

Surely the club will have all the data from during the game and post match testing to decide if he needs a rest?

10 games to go before the break in season for the World Cup. Can he get the 11 goals he needs to become the club's all time top scorer in that time? Then go to Qatar needing just 3 goals to become England's all time top scorer.

I think he will definitely achieve the latter in the World Cup which will be so much more special to claim the record in the biggest tournament in football.

Not going to be upset if he does it that soon but would be perfect if he gets the record in the NLD in Jan

The last major injury that Harry had was a result of overplaying when he went off with a serious thigh muscle injury on New Year’s Day 2020 against Southampton having played all games over a busy Christmas schedule. He missed a lot of games but that tally would have doubled if it weren’t for the COVID break.

He’s now had serious knocks in the last two games. Resting him in games here and there gives him a greater chance of avoiding a serious injury.
