I’d love Kane to go to Bayern if he’s ever to leave us, which obviously I’d prefer not to happen. This season barring injury he’s going to become our all-time top goal scorer and if he doesn’t renew and decides to leave next summer or on a free the following year, a team in another league would be best and at Bayern he’d be almost certainly guaranteed multiple trophies before his career ended.
As both posters above has said it seems unlikely he’ll go abroad whilst chasing down Shearers record but if no other competitive PL team that he’s willing to go to comes in for him by the end of his contract with us, would he really choose the record over trophies?

Watching the latest preseason video in South Korea, Kane looks really relaxed and happy. The contrast to the start of last season where he showed up late, wasn’t even a part of the group or ready for the first game is pretty huge. Scored a couple of crackers in the mini goals too!

And he looks very sharp ! ... I don't think he's ever looked that trimmed.

From Fabrizio "soon, here we go" Romano

@FabrizioRomano
There’s no discussion, negotiation or talk about Harry Kane. Tottenham always considered him untouchable and there’s nothing concrete going on with Bayern.

Lewy, Paratici and Conte have never considered to sell Kane this summer - Spurs want to discuss a new deal soon.

From German Kicker Magazine today:

Lewandowski hopes that the Bayern bosses will accept an offer from Barcelona – ideally before July 12th. By Sunday morning, however, no further offer had arrived from the German record champions.

Lewandowski is therefore expected back for now. Nevertheless, the Munich team have to prepare for the 33-year-old's departure. By the summer of 2023 at the latest. According to kicker information, one name that is conceivable in the forward position when shaping the future is Harry Kane. The 28-year-old has a contract with Tottenham Hotspur until 2024.

He would fit into Bayern's job profile. What is wanted is an attacker who has already demonstrated the required top level and cannot grow into it. However, a transfer this summer is difficult or almost impossible to implement due to the financial aspects.

Bayern are obviously huge club and any player to sign for them is pretty much guaranteed to win trophies.

But I'm not sure that the Bundesliga has enough attraction for someone like Harry. Even though it gets great crowds and has somewhat closed the gap in quality to the big three leagues (perhaps even having caught and surpassed Serie A), it still lacks their status and cachet.

So if Harry was ever to move abroad, I think it far more likely that he would head for Spain or Italy. I suspect that the lifestyle in those two countries would be more appealing to him and his wife too.

That said, since we're back in the CL and looking to be more ambitious still under Conte, I think the most likely outcome is that he will sign a new contract at Spurs within the next six months (possibly with clauses related to Conte staying, degree of success, continued investment in the team etc).

If we are saying though that Kanes future is tied to someone like Conte, doesnt Conte have technically a year remaining on his contract? I see no reason why Conte would leave at end of next season unless something does go awry. So essentially wouldnt Kane kinda wait until next summer anyways. Like you say with a bunch of clauses but I dont think that is something that we would want to do.

If we could get him to sign on again, with (if he wants it) an absurdly high release fee, then I'm happy with that.

Anyone else see that bit from the training session in Korea, where he lifts it over the keeper and scores in a goal about the size of a laundry basket?

Unreal.

Harry only needs to score 1 more goal to equal and 2 more goals to be the player who have scored the most goal for a single club in Premier League history with Shearer and Rooney scoring part of their goals for Blackburn and Everton respectively.

Looks as though he has a good target to aim at, overtaking Rooney this season if he gets 26 PL goals

I wonder if our transfer window so far has had an effect on players perception of the club, I bet most of us have raised expectations for the new season compared to the start of the window.
ITK seems to be saying that players are talking to us, hopefully enthusiastically, so maybe opportunities are opening up as the window has progressed.

Moving this discussion from ITK to here - for the quotes from Harry via Ally Gold

When asked whether he had got last summer out of his system, Kane, who is on tour in South Korea with Spurs, said: "I’m just looking forward to the new season and looking forward to seeing what we can do.

"It’s a big season. We’ve made some big signings, early signings which is great. We haven’t won a trophy in a long time. We haven’t been at the level we know we can in the last two or three years, although we’ve done really well to get a Champions League spot. That gave everyone a good boost around the whole club, and an incentive to go and push on this season. We’ve got that to look forward to but there’s still work to do before the start of the new season.

"It’s been a great pre-season so far. I've been back five or six days and it’s been a really good camp. We’ve worked really hard. We’ve got some new singings, some new faces, there's a buzz about the place. It’s been difficult at times in certain sessions but it's been good and everyone’s excited for the season.

With Spence expected to complete his move to Spurs within 24 hours, the club will add his name to a list of summer transfers that includes Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Clement Lenglet. Kane pointed to the ready-made nature of many of those players with their Premier League or top level experience as being key to the current excitement around the place and the fanbase.

"I know there’s excitement among the fans and rightly so, there always is going into any season. It helps with preparation, it helps knowing these guys have been there and done it and got good experience in the Premier League or around the best clubs in Europe, and they’re here to help," he said.

"We need a big squad if we’re going to compete at the highest level in all four competitions. When you look at last season, we were getting down to bare bones and it’s great to bulk up the squad with great players. there’s some great competition for places."

I hope he wins golden boot. I think he will. He looks like he will hit the ground running rather than starting in September (or January if yiou want to be more 'recentish')

He is looking at Haaland and Salah and perhaps Nunez (even Son haha) and thinking - you guys are the fucking pretenders... he will be up for the challenge.

When you consider how players are retiring later these days, sports science allowing them to play at their peak for much longer, its terrifying to think about what Kane is capable of still. He's nearing 30 but feels like he's only just entering his peak as a footballer.

He could bag 300 in the PL before he's done.

Kane will be bang at it this season in my opinion. Unlike this time last year seems to be completely commited, fit and totally on board with the manager. Going to be s special season i think

Kane is looking really sharp in pre-season. Last season he did not really contribute significantly until December, having missed pre-season and his heart was just not in it under Nuno. When Conte came in November it took him 3-4 weeks to get Kane properly fit, and from Jan - May Kane was probably the best player in the league. One thing I have noticed in season is his long range shooting is back to 2016/7 levels. He looks deadly form 25-30 yards again. I think we'll see him get close ot 30 PL goals this season.

Less than 24 months on his contract. Wonder when the media will start to ramp up the pressure
