This club is a joke. All our best players have left because we dont show any ambition.

Its sickening some if the players we've had and all we hsve to show is a league cup.

I’ve never known him to be offside as much as last night. It was unbelievable

Think that has to do with trying to press the goal-keeper. When we are playing deep and counter-attacking, Kane would have had to sprint for at least 30 metres, and if he tries to go the next 10 pressing, and over 99% of the time it fails and when the opposition clears the ball, he has to come back at least another 30 metres to be onside. Having spent his energy during the previous attack and pressing, he could at best only jog back if not just walk and cannot get back in time for our next pass forward.

I've never been keen on pressing the goalie unless the whole team was playing the high press like in the most successful period under Poch when we had some success in goalie pressing.

I do wonder what planet Kane is on when he thinks he's the best man to take freekicks. I genuinely think he's the worst freekick taker I've ever seen. By the law of averages, even the shittest of freekick takers would ocassionally fluke a couple in surely.

He scored that up-and-over one very early on - against Aston Villa was it? it looked really like he knew what he was doing, with the foot position and back spin. Never since....

To be fair there are very few teams who are not like that. We have similar history of trophies to the likes of Villa and Everton yet our expectations are much higher. We've been more successful than both this millennium at least. We just want to push on from there but struggling to do it. We haven't won trophies close together for 30+ years though. Top players will leave us for trophies unless we change our approach. We did great at developing players like Kane over the years. If we're going to succeed with him here we need more top players in their peak. Its very difficult to compete at this level though and I'm not sure our fans really appreciate how tough it is. It will always be tough with Utd and Liverpool being the 2 biggest clubs in England and then Chelsea and City spending endless money (probably Newcastle next too). Just to get into Top 4 is a big challenge let alone winning trophies. There are far worse situations than ours though. At least we have Kane now , many teams never have a player like him let alone the other legends we've had. Hardly a joke.

Dier needs to take them, he has hit the target almost every time he takes one. Cannot believe Kane still has the audacity to take them.

We were finally competing. Then someone decided recruitment wasnt needed. Like I said its a joke. I don't care about villa or everton.

They spent most of the budget on the stadium. Hopefully the long term plan was to recruit bigger and better players with the new stadium built and generating money. Poch took us as far as we could go with a 36k capacity stadium. We had to then build a new stadium which makes it difficult to spend on players. It's a process that time unfortunately. It was always likely to be a transition phase when moving stadium. It's frustrating for Kane who is in his peak years but maybe we'll actually go big in the summer. Although Kane did sign a lucrative contract so should be prepared to see it out.

Well if that is true why couldn't he be arsed to show up?

Only just seen Keane's words. Seem fair enough to me

Keane talks a lot of bollocks but he isn't wrong here.
Kane is 100% part of the problem, same with Son & Hugo.

a total refresh? inc selling kane and son?
Don't know. Wouldn't be wise would it. If Kane wants to go he can **** off (still).

Son has just signed a new deal so can't see him leaving or being sold, but we need competition for him. Failed with Diaz but we go again hopefully.

Massive deflection that would not have gone in otherwise. Basically he hit the wall and got lucky.

That was when players used the knuckle ball technique that Bale and Ronaldo mastered. That stopped working about 5 years ago when the balls changed.

Agree. We've had some very big games over the years (CL and League cup finals, FA Cup semi-finals) and none of our senior players has made a difference in them.

I didn't realise that- because the balls are lighter now?
