If it’s self mocking or in good humour I think it’s fine. That’s what football matches are about. As long as there is no violence or truly disgusting language I feel anyone that’s paid the prices you have to pay nowadays can do as they please.

I just think by not singing his name, especially if he isn't involved in the game, it sends the message that no player will ever be bigger than the club. If the comments did genuinely hurt him, then us acting like we simply don't care one way or the other hits that home further.

You have to think if City are willing to offer close to £130 million then it's likely they will add another £20 million on to get him at £150 million which to be honest I think is a fair price for him. We could genuinely buy 3 top class prospects with that sort of cash and the squad badly needs it. I would be gutted to see him leave and it will be horrible to see him play for another club but I could accept it.
