Why hasn't anyone at Spurs come out and 'set the record straight' regarding Kane? They've left us at the mercy of the media and turned us against each other by remaining silent. The fact is that ultimately they don't give a flying fuck about their fans. Another reason why I've started losing interest in this once great club.
I never have lost interest in our mighty club. I do not know what they can say at this point. They are as flabbergasted as we all are in his behavior.

Personally I'd be all for it. The boy has no fear and he'd be a massive wild-card for us, so yeah, why not. I wonder if Nuno feels the same though.
I think constantly bringing a kid on at 88 mins "to protect them" is actually a lot more harmful than letting them start and tell them to go out and enjoy it

A thing that you were told by Daniel Levy

Maybe we need to get away from the idea that being one of our own is something to sing about anyway or something for homegrown players only. Maybe it’s more a state of mind.

This 100% - who cares where someone was born or which academy they played for - one of our own is someone who seems to care about the club as much as the fans do. At the moment I'd happily sing that to Sonny, one of our few world class players in recent times that hasn't always been looking for the next step.

I don't get why Grealish is treated so well compared to Kane. Yes I know Kane has not turned up but the 2 are completely different situations. Grealish already had a release clause in his contract so it's easy to just get on with it. He came back for preseason knowing he had a price set and if someone offers it he can move. Kane obviously felt he had a good relationship with Levy and would be allowed to leave for a reasonable fee. Now obviously he should be criticised for not turning up. However I don't get why no criticism of Grealish. He's jumped ship to City at the first opportunity. At least Kane stuck around for a while and tried to win things for us. People have a go about how hollow winning titles with City is yet still praise Grealish.

This absolutely nails it for me.

I get the link to it being a homegrown player, but actually Son doing what he has shows someone that gets it and absolutely loves and respects the club and the fans. That is priceless, especially with a backdrop of our homegrown former hero acting like he has, happily shitting on his legacy for a fistful of participation trophies and dirty oil money.

Don't get me wrong, Son is getting well compensated with his new contract but I have no doubts many teams would have been willing to take him this summer or next. He chose to stay and fight for the badge.

It’s up to Kane to break the ice. No compromise here, no meeting him half way. He has to do all of the heavy lifting if he’s to be in with even the slightest chance of rehabilitation.

And even then, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to sing for him again.

Fully understand the feelings of being let down - I have those as well.

I just don't want this situation to cause us anymore harm than is absolutely necessary. We're going through a transition and this could really hinder the new manager.

A bit of laughter at the ground can change how everyone is feeling. If people are more positive they are more likely to get behind the team and be that 12th man which is all we can ultimately do as fans in the stadium.

Spurs is bigger than Kane so let's make sure everyone knows it!

This is such a bullshit point tbh. They won't sell massive amounts of extra shirts because of Kane. They will just sell less KDB shirts as some kids get Kane instead.
No, there are fans of the player that actually move to the club they are with im generally talking about non locla/uk based fans. If Messi moves to PSG plenty of people will buy that short who never would of bought a PSG shirt of any player.

But shirt sales still only amount to a tiny part of a clubs commercial revenue. The club doesn't get the full value either, the kit supplier will take their share etc.

This has been done to death on here, IIRC.

I was only addressing the point about instead of a KDB short not the amount of money generated.

The vast majority of fans who attend, aren’t reading all the rumours etc on forums like this. The bulk of fans love Kane, want him to stay and realise he is the best player we’ve had in years. So will get behind him quickly again…guaranteed. We’ve had people like Adebayor and Gallas play for us with backing of crowd after their pasts. Fans will not hold a grudge if he performs on pitch again
Really don’t think you can make that guarantee.
Gallas didn’t threaten to score an own goal against us, he was a great professional for us. So what he played for arse and chelsea. He didn’t disrespect our badge whilst receiving a wage.
Kane has, he’s taken a big shit on the fans, the players and his boss not to mention his new manager.
The guy’s a prick for his actions.

Yea, but Kane has nowhere need the marketability of Messi though. Happily proved wrong, but I'd imagine the amount of people jumping ship from Spurs to City as Kane has gone there would be minimal.

Makes you re-think the concept of the "Harry Kane Club" comments now.

I know people will still (including Harry) think it's all an over-reaction, and a 180 from people having said they wouldn't blame him for leaving, but nothing about the way this has been done so far has been executed at all well with respect to the fans.

I think if he'd even told Gary Neville "I think I need to leave before I miss the chance to win the biggest prizes" or "I have to be playing in the CL", especially if it was PSG, Barca or Real, then people would have likely been more annoyed at the club than Harry, but I maintain it's been the same as Poch was (even, it seems, with PSG) where in public the fans are taken for fools, but behind the scenes it's all planning and plotting to force a move - not even any apparent consideration to 'life after Harry'. I'm just not convinced now that he ever cared about anything more than his own career.
