Yeah. Agreed. They seem so smug and in love with themselves. You get the impression they spend all day in the office commenting on each other’s beards and licking themselves.
I've mentioned in other threads that I have a journalism degree but decided not to pursue the field as I see it as deeply flawed.

It just seems like The Athletic doesn't want to rock the boat. They don't really go into anything in depth or hold anyone to account. So it's just standard modern journalism with the offence but written a bit better.

He had a part. Doesnt make him solely responsible.

He also played a big part in getting us to the final. He came on at halftime in the first leg and essentially stemmed the constant pressure.

He was generally very good in the run up.

You seem to have selected particular moments to suit a narrative

Particular moments? The majority of his time at Spurs he has been sub standard.

This is true.

But your statement that he is the man who lost us the CL final is not true.

In my humble opinion of course.
Completely agree. Poor management decisions cost us the Final, picking an unfit Harry Kane ahead of Lucas when he hadn't played the last part of the season and the gap between the end of the season to the cup final gave Harry no match time. Regardless of him saying he was fit should have had nothing to do with him starting.

Fwiw my theory is that Daniel will dig his heels in to get another year out of Harry however I wouldn't be surprised to see him play much less than we've been used to as he looks after his body a bit more and prepares to move at the end of the season.

I can’t see him missing games. I think as soon as the season kicks in he’ll wanna play. Although I would say there is no way he should play the first few games if he isn’t due back until the 2nd August

I can not see Harry Kane coming back from holiday and refusing to train with the team. Just cant.
If that did happen he would really ruin his reputation and his relationship with us (the fans) and the club.

At the end of last season, before the euros, I had more or less accepted that Kane was gone. Because hos the season finished, the current state of the club etc.
But now, I actually think he might stay. He probably planned to move (and get his medals) but covid and bad economic situation in lots of the big clubs may force him to stay.
And I also think Nuno was clear in the press conferece. They must have expected kane-questions and prepared what to say.

His England team mates, you say? If they had as much as half his professionalism combined, maybe England would have won the Euros.

This is going to drag on all window, make no mistake about it ?
It 100% will, unless we release a statement saying “no matter what city bid, Kane isn’t leaving” (which of course we won’t) journalists will always keep banging on about it because it gets clicks
