Dortmund have shown how to handle this. Set a figure in agreement with the player, make the figure public and give a deadline, stick to the deadline when it passes.

Kane wouldn't revolt if no-one came in much like Sancho didn't.

yup, totally agree.

I'm guessing this is why the pundits said what they said on Sunday. Neville saying "kane hasn't said he wants to leave, I don't know which part of the interview people were watching" etc etc.

It stinks and Neville is such a fucking hypocrite, the self appointed saviour of football condemning the ESL and ffp regulations. Seems happy to profit from the game in any way he can, morals out the window.

Always thought this about him. As long as his beloved UtD are the profiteers, he will condemn anything and call himself the man of the people. He often lets his guard slip as he’s not that clever to keep it up.

As for the Kane thing, he was actively involved with manipulating that bet market for financial gain. Hypocrite for sure.

I agree the lot that you listed haven't been good enough. The only difference for me is Sissoko; i think he filled a functional role and we got what we paid for. So yes, your pessimism makes sense. I would even add that since we failed to sort the midfield out with the the money spent on GLC and NDom, this is now going to drag us back from addressing other areas such as the aging backline. So buying badly has knock-on effects down the line.

But even with that, I still disagree that's a good enough reason to not sell.

We are 7th with 2 of the most productive PL players. What makes you think that Kane will still perform to this level if we kept him against his will? Also if we dont improve, we are going to slip. So whether we keep or sell Kane, we are still unlikely to get CL and we still need a squad rebuild.
The fact Kane is a model professional and even more than that he has stated many times he wants to break all kinds of goals scoring records. He is on track but he can’t afford to be not trying or downing tools, not that for a second he would anyway.

As to Sissoko I’m afraid I completely disagree on that, one of the worst footballers in recent memory at Spurs, absolutely shocking in ability just dreadful.

It's may be because I am not a professional sportsman but this all "I must win team trophies" talk I don't always get.

If you look back at some of the great players, say Jimmy Greaves. People don't talk about the trophies he won (what did he win? An FA Cup with us and a league title with Milan? plus a world cup obviously!), they talk about his goal scoring record with us, being our record goal scorer. Same with Alan Shearer, he won one trophy with Blackburn I think, but he is the record Premier League goal scorer which is basically what he is known for.

I think these personal achievements are important to Harry. He mentioned in the Gary Neville interview that he wants to beat Rooney's England record and Shearer's premier league record. I am sure he would also love to beat Jimmy Greaves Spurs' record and Thierry Henry's premier golden boot record and maybe be the only player to win the World Cup golden boot twice. Imagine if he could take all those records, he would probably go down as the greatest English player ever. Would he care that he didn't win a bucket load of trophies. I am not sure he would.

Hopefully he may pick up a trophy with England. And if he stays with us for another 3 or 4 years he may still pick up a Europa Conference League trophy. But breaking those records he would go down in history.

Maybe it is just wishful thinking.

It is a narrative that has been moulded by Sky and the Big 4 clubs since the expansion of the CL to be a cash cow for those clubs. If a club threatens the status quo their star players are repeatedly unsettled and told they need to be at a bigger club. The not-so-hidden agendas and double standards of pundits like Gary Neville is sickening.

So I still can’t believe the overlap is allowed. Gary neville’s programme on YouTube was made by sky bet and ran on the sky sports channels. They then suspend betting on the market a week later, I’m assuming because of complaints. There has to be something in place to regulate this kind of thing. It’s murky as fuck.

This justifies what I have said before. If Kane is to leave he isnt guaranteed regular silverware with that lot. Its City or abroad.
