SkyBet cancelled the Harry Kane market after admitting they were actually behind the Neville Overlap interview. I wonder if they have refunded all bets?

This is too little, too late, and they should face consequences from the Gambling Commission and other associated bodies. View attachment 88035

Wow, we all called how much of a conflict of interest this is. Hope they have book thrown at them!!

I keep thinking every now and then in the financially hit climate this past year, who actually has the funds if he is to go? Even despite his age, he will be towards £200m or £150m minimum surely? Then does he want to stay in the Prem to break Shearer's record, or would it solely be for trophies? Logically City would be the club you'd think.

3 years left and doesn't want to go abroad - he's essentially priced himself out of the market

He'll be here next season I think. The media trying to set a price lol...have they forgotten Levy is in the driving seat with 3 years remaining and its Daniel fucking Levy.

The price will be set ridiculously high for domestic parties.

People seem to forget this, as if its just down to Kane.

He'd never strike so we hold all the cards.

He is only in the driving seat if he has excess money to spend on the team (which looks unlikely), this team currently isn't getting CL football any time soon which is where the money is. Unless we have investment this summer, and I mean proper investment, and make the correct managerial appointment. Levy is on a hiding to nothing by keeping Kane, holding onto a player who isn't going to be worth more next season in the current set up.

Yep. Unless we are serious about competing and take the gamble(and we are not serious about it whatsoever and never will be serious about it with the current ownership), we will need the Kane money this summer to have any remote chance of not falling even further back.

This is why I think there is more chance of a deal being done than not, again unless £100-£150M comes out of Joe's pocket.

As others have said the onus is on City to do a deal and the media seem to be slowing down on the story now. Everyone got themselves in a tizz about the fact he genuinely wants out which is fair enough. Now that particular cat is out of the bag the focus goes onto the chances of it actually happening and the last few articles on the situation seem to be suggesting it may not happen for him.

I do sympathise with Harry but we can't give him away either, he is an enormous asset to the club and us fans and we would have to be compensated accordingly for him to move on. If he truly believes he has another 5-6 years left at his peak then hopefully he can get his head down if he has to stay. Fingers crossed Levy gives him an exciting manager and better squad to play with should that happen.

Anyone who suggests clubs won't be interested in 1-2 summers time is not thinking clearly, there will always be a market for someone of his quality, he might just have to ride his contract out a bit, hopefully scoring a load of goals in the process ready for the World Cup.

I'm guessing there have been complaints to to he UK GC. Can't see why else they'd have done this. About time though imo.

Whilst I sympathise with Harry, I'd be much more confident of us competing again with him rather than without him. Our transfer record on strikers is pretty terrible since Berbatov.

A new manager in (who actually coaches the team properly) and some fresh blood returning from loan (Skipp and Sessegnon) could be enough to shake things up with a bit of smart trading in the transfer market. Already a bit of noise around squad players like Aurier, Lamela, Moura, Foyth and Sanchez leaving.

They actually did this as soon as they posted the full interview to be fair to them.

I'd assumed that, with those interview comments, he MUST have had the heads up from City that they'd make an acceptable bid and he just needed to be a bit difficult to wriggle his way out and get his move sorted. But, as you say, it hasn't played out (thus far) like he actually has any concrete interest from them.

As has been said elsewhere in the the thread, it does seem like Kane's management don't really know what they're doing and jumped the gun. He probably should have asked Bale for Jonathan Barnett's number if he wanted to get this done...

You don't move forward or even stand still by taking out 37 goals and assists in 38 games from your team from one player. You invest to build around that.

Don't fool yourselves into thinking that selling Kane will improve us. It will be a massive backwards step. Especially if we can't get Bale to renew his loan. That'll be the majority of our goals gone. The biggest strength of our squad from this season was our forwards and goals scored.

The only way we improve as a team to challenge is to keep Kane, renew Bale and strengthen our midfield and defence significantly with top quality.

If you think this season was bad, and we sell Kane.... You may not want to watch next season.

We can't be confident as all it will take is a genuine big money offer from City to kick it off again, but there is no guarantee that materialises. It might pick up again after the CL Final.

Hopefully they beat Chelsea at the weekend and they get guilty about a lavish striker purchase, sticking to their usual MO of sub £100m transfers.

Guys - if City get Haaland, he'll go to Utd. It's fairly simple IMO.

Man U are all over the place. City are going to dominate no matter what, I'd almost rather he went there
Utd would be far worse than City. They are more likely going to be our challengers for top 4 next season. Give them Kane and they pull further ahead of us. We're highly unlikely to challenge for the title next season. If we can get top 4 again though we start to head back in the right direction again. City will be ahead of us for a while though (probably as long as Pep is still there) so they'll probably just push further ahead of everyone else. If we sell to any PL it can only be City. Everyone else is not that far ahead of us provided we get our shit together this summer.

Man I am so naive, does this mean Gary Neville is taking funding from a betting company who are looking to manipulate the market around Kanes future?

What a 2 faced cretin that bloke is.

There has always been long held suspicions about the relationship between Sky Sports and Sky Bet. There were definite relations for a long time, as they sat under the same company group.

In recent years they have distanced the links in ownership.

However, for Sky Bet to come out and actually admit they were funding the Neville documentary is quite damning. The fact that this was the same documentary that then facilitated a ‘breaking news’ programme on Kane at 7pm on Sky shows the link between Neville, Sky Sports, Overlap and Sky Bet.

The truth is that punters need to realise the manipulation that is going on with these kind of markets.

Since Saturday we have had Nuno, Poch and now Martinez strong favourites for the Spurs job!
