Where has all this guaranteed trophies come from? The only thing guaranteed in life is death and taxes.

If Kane wanted guarantees he would have asked to leave several years ago. He didn’t, because he still believed that we could at least compete for the big trophies and had a decent chance of winning something.

We’re going backwards fast. Even Stevie Wonder can see it.

City obviously is the best choice for him, but he’s far more likely to compete at Utd than us. Anyone who doesn't think they are a step up from us is deluded.

Agree. But whilst United is a step up, it's not enough of one. I can't see Harry choosing a club with the likes of OGS in charge.

Anyone else remember Gary Neville's rant about Paul Pogba's agent making it clear he wanted to leave on an eve of a big game for United. Neville went on a proper rant on Sky Sports for 3 minutes about how Man U must never use Mino Raiola again to sign any player as it was the worst crime possible to unsettle the team before a big game and transfer business should be conducted behind closed doors. Different standards for him helping a Spurs player do the every same.

Neville is an absolute cretin, a shill for his former and current paymasters. An odious toad.

Bale leaving was so much worse.

For me anyway..

Disagree.
When Bale left, as a club we were on a up and going in right direction.
Now, Kane is leaving at a time when we may have no Europe or Conference, no manager, shit players, distrust between fans & mgmt...and what not.

This moment is the lowest we have been for years or decades. I doubt even when we were 3pts from 8 games in 2008, we were this low as a club

Appreciate how good Kane has been for us, but personally a player leaving Spurs hasn’t upset me since Teddy went, the main difference being I’m a grown man now with a mortgage, baby, life, etc.

It won’t be Chelsea or United, it will be City for £100-125m with clauses based on them winning Prem/CL, etc.

When he goes that will be it. Forget about him. He’s not a Spurs player anymore. Won’t give him a second thought.

What we should all be concerned with is how the money is reinvested, as I think there could be a sizeable amount of money for transfers available this summer

Trying to see this positively if I can.

We’ve won nothing with Kane. And if we kept him without bolstering the squad sufficiently we will be looking at maintaining where we are now for a long time to come. This is a crisis but it’s also a rare opportunity to apply a shock treatment to this club and kick start a new era.

Obviously this all hinges on the next manager and next signings as to how we see this moment in a few years time.

Levy may well get that part wrong, but he may get it right.

If he gets it right, we will be in a better place than if Kane had stayed.

Big if, I know.

If Kane goes Grealish needs to be a Spurs player or we riot.

We’ll need someone new to get fans back up on their feet again.

i really don't think him going to city will be the slam dunk success people assume.

1) they're a phenomenally well organised team and will probably win the CL without needing him
2) harry's never moved before outside of short term loans and he's got a young family; it's a big change
3) he suddenly isn't the main man and he won't play every week; we've seen how guardiola treated aguero recently
4) injuries
5) the abuse he'll take will be unreal and unprecedented. if he thinks being called "legends" bothers him wait til his first away game where tens of thousands are booing his every touch.

it really strikes me as more of a torres to chelsea or fabregas to barca than RVP to united, but maybe i'm just looking for an upside

Seen a few saying Levy’s finished at the club when Kane goes. Ha. More like he’s done when Lewis says so. There’s little fans can do beyond cancelling any way in which the club can get any more money from you. I know I’ve done that. But what real difference does it make? Just feel v defeated as a fan
