Unpopular opinion but maybe it is what we need to freshen up the squad

Sell Kane and some fringe players

Get Grealish - Sabitzer - Dybala and Ings :D and 2 CB ofc :p

hold on to him for 12 months when his value will drop significantly?
Why does this keep being said?

In 12 months will Kane no longer be the world’s best striker, with two years on his deal, in his prime, totally not reliant on pace, and England captain? Is his head going to explode in July 2022 when he celebrates his 29th birthday?

If only we could use all the money on a new up and coming star striker ala atletico. Sadly we need to complete rebuild of the team.

Who wants to come to us when we have sold our best player

I don't get that logic. At all.

Big players leave big clubs every season. Players at lesser clubs still long to sign for those big(ger) clubs. Because of wages. Because it represents a step up in their careers. Because of playing in bigger games and bigger competitions.

If we lose Harry, we will have vast choice of players falling over themselves to join us.

Nothing pisses me off more though than the twats like Neville desperately trying to sell Kane to the likes of City when only last month they were complaining how money was ruining football and the ESL was going to ruin competition in football. Hypocritical pricks.

Totally agree.

It’s also alongside this constant narrative that:

“he can’t ever be considered a great player unless he goes on to win the big trophies”

OK, Shearer won a PL with a financially doped Blackburn, but would he really not have just been the first inductee into the PL half of fame without that?

I actually think most football fans respected him MORE for going to his boyhood club than Man U. I know I did.

The fact Newcastle didn’t win things wasn’t due to Shearer.

Ugh the old ‘oooh I thought this was a forums’ nutshell. Yes, you’re free to say what you like and I’m equally free to paint it as rubbish if I believe it to be. If you’re saying Villa are only marginally worse than us then being a troll is the longest description I can attribute to you, because if you genuinely believe that... well I don’t want to be banned but suffice to say I’ve got nothing kind to say.
All I'm saying is yes we are better but not by much I don't think it's unreasonable but if you want to go for it I'm sure I can take it, I can assure you I really would not be bothered but will leave it here as the club has enough problems without members squabbling.

Sorry for going ott.

But I still think saying we’re marginally better than Villa is a ridiculous thing to say. If you genuinely believe that then it’s not for me to tell you otherwise.

We're not getting £150m+ for Kane with 2 years left on his deal next year. My point is that if he's that insistent on leaving, then why delay the inevitable by 12 months?

"According to the Daily Mail, the north London club made discreet enquiries over Dortmund star Haaland.

However, they quickly turned to other options after his agent Mino Raiola demanded wages worth £350,000-a-week."

Can we have a whip round and come up with the £350,000 a week, be well worth it.

Surely it would be better to sell him this summer for £150m+ than hold on to him for 12 months when his value will drop significantly?
Depends on whether you think his value will be significantly less next summer, I don’t think it will be. Also, what value do we put on another 30 goal season from him, and what it says about us as a club if we let him leave. Can you see any top player looking at us in same way without Kane? Commercially too, our value drops significantly without our star player. From a footballing and business perspective it makes no sense to sell, however it all depends on how much of a problem a disheartened Kane will cause.

Listening to the Fighting Cock, Flav said during his work with Sky that they’ve got an interview Kane’s done with Gary Neville that’ll be released on the 26th that he was told would be uncomfortable for Spurs fans. This is probably where Sky got their break from yesterday and where Kane’s gonna publicly break cover.

Hazard was sold for similar amount with 1 year left on his contract.

The other constant drivel spouted by the media is:

Big clubs don’t sell their best players.

Hahahahahahaha......

David Beckham
Cristiano Ronaldo
Alexis Sanchez
Thierry Henry
Philipe Coutinho
Eden Hazard
Luis Suarez
Rajeem Sterling

I have probably missed some obvious ones too.

All been sold by the apparent top clubs in England who never sell their best players. Only little old Spurs do that.

The revisionism and hypocrisy is mind blowing.

Mate it's no problem you don't need to apologize I think maybe I haven't expressed it the right way but it's all good.

Doubt it will fall that much. He will still have two years on his contract and clubs will all potentially be in a better financial position than they are right now.

Let’s be realistic. If you are Harry Kane. Captain of England. And you look around the dressing room and see Jordan fucking Henderson. And Harry Maguire have more trophies than you. You bet your arse you are going to be questioning what club you are at.

Need a Jack Grealish kind of signing if Kane leaves, a truly exciting and creative player who would easily walk into our XI. And Danny Ings, Sabitzer + a couple of really solid defenders.

Ings would only cut it as a supplementary striker. Certainly can't rely on someone as injury prone as him to be our main striker IMO.

Exactly. Hazard was sold for £104 million rising to £140 million when he only had one year left on his contract at a similar age, and his playstyle is far more reliant on pace and acceleration than Kane's, along with being much less professional off the pitch.

No reason why we shouldn't get at least £120 million for him next summer, if not closer to £140-150 million.

This summer we shouldn't sell for anything less than £180-200 million or something stupid - those are the types of fees Levy would want for the England captain, record breaking goal scorer, with 3 years left on his contract - and no way in hell is anyone gonna spend that much in the current market
