His hold up play combined with his goalscoring prowess means that you simply cannot accurately compare him to any other single centre forward in my opinion, I'm struggling to think of one even historically.

I also think the hold up part of his game is vastly underrated by a lot of people here...actually one of the reasons why he's my player of the season so far! Been involved either directly through an assist or scoring in 36% of our goals (not including other build up play), has been an ever present only missing 2 games after a looong World Cup (most minutes played this season) and is our most fouled player (contributes to dangerous set pieces etc.) along with winning the most aerial battles in the squad.

I mean this video is from March 2018 and you could easily fill another 3 minutes minimum from the matches between. He's the type of player that gives his teammates the types of pass he'd love to get the majority of the time. It's rare anyone has to check their runs or work too much to control it and his first touch is more often than not exquisite.

He's on course to becoming the best striker in Spurs and England's history. Beast.

He really is up there with the greats. The physicality of Gary Doherty combined with the razor-sharp predatory instincts of Frazier Campbell and the raw talent of Neale Fenn.

MBE well deserved.

I’d love him even more if he refused it but fair play to him. I know plenty would love the honour

I thought he was getting an OBE so we could use Obi Wan Kane-OBE jokes.

Congratulations to the chap. Comes across as a decent fella, as opposed to some of the knobs who act like complete arseh*less because they're earning serious wedge.

Morning Wilshire.

In fairness to Wilshere I don’t think he acts like a complete arsehole simply because he’s earning serious wedge.

He’s a complete arsehole regardless.

Is it just me or is some of that passing is reminiscent of a certain Glenn Hoddle ?
