I was just kinda hoping we’d take risk and hopefully do well and he then signs a new deal mid-season if we play successfully under Ange’s system.

It’s not like he cost us anything lol.

Seems like such a missed opportunity.

He wants to be winning or competing for champions leagues and league titles each year. We're not going to be able to offer him that opportunity consistently for the next 4-5 seasons.

Even if he did stay this season I just don't think he would sign a new contract so it makes sense to get some money for him and let the Ange and new gen move forward together.

Does feel likely he goes still given the links to Orban. We were never getting him and Veliz if Kane stays too. The talk of it being independent just sounds like not wanting to leak this one. Still feel like we want to announce a few signings before the bad news of Kane going. Maybe VdV, Laporte and Orban announced followed by Kane sold.
